A tough one.
Chelsea have the possibility to go to within 5 points of Tottenham with 4 games to play. Burnley could move above Arsenal into 6th with 3 points. If form is to be taken into account then one would have to say that Burnley are favourites to get something out of the game. Sean Dyche has rallied his team this season and now sits at the edge of a potential place in next seasons Europa League.
Last season Chelsea drew away to Burnley and lost to Burnley at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of this season. That loss in hind sight seems like a pre cursor to what followed.
If Chelsea are too get 3 points against Burnley they need to give a much better defensive performance than they gave at Southampton, while showing much more desire and passion. The first 60 minutes at the weekend was all Southampton and Burnley are much better team than the Saints and will most likely not capitulate in 10 minutes. Chelsea need to take the remaining games one at a time and while there is an FA Cup semi final on Sunday, this game is as important.
Chelsea Team Preview
Chelsea might be without Marcos Alonso for the next 3 games if he is banned for the challenge against Shane Long at the weekend. Otherwise David Luiz and Ampadu remain out. Conte has stated that Emerson might start his first league game and Rudiger might be back for the game as well. Conte might not make too many rotations as he sees this game as important as the semi final.
Burnley Team Preview
Burnley should have a fully fit squad for the game while Chris Wood is in especially good form at the moment.
Starting XI Prediction
It is going to be tough game for Chelsea but hopefully the win against Southampton has fired up the players to kick on for the rest of the season.
COME ON CHELSEA!!!
