Midweek Football Review
Brighton 1 vs. 1 Tottenham
Following a lacklustre first half the game lit up in the second as Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead in the 48th minute. Aurier though brought down Izquierdo in the box 2 minutes later to concede a penalty. Gross managed to convert the penalty and bring Brighton back into the game. Kane should probably have been rested but it seems that he has prioritised catching Salah in the golden boot race. Brighton continue their good home form this season and stay 13th, while a sub par performance by Spurs means that they are now only 5 points ahead of Chelsea.
Bournemouth 0 vs. 2 Man United
Goals from Smalling and Lukaku in each half gave United the three points. Mourinho made seven changes to the side ahead of their weekend semi final against Tottenham, and United have all but confirmed their place in the top four for this season. Bournemouth remain 11th.
Leicester 0 vs. 0 Southampton
A game of no real opportunities as Southampton manage a point but still remain four points off Swansea who sit 17th and have a game in hand. Leicester remain 8th.
