France vs. Argentina
France comfortably won their first two games but struggled to break the Danish defence in their last group game. Argentina started the tournament with a shock draw against Iceland and then backed it up with a loss against Croatia, but Nigeria saved them from being knocked out and Argentina beat Nigeria to scrape into the round of 16. Of the two teams France have put forward better performances but in past tournaments performances at the group stage do not correlate with how teams perform in the knockout stages. Argentina have Messi but that is about it, they do have a host of talent but with unrest in their camp and a lack of chemistry amongst its players I do not think they will go any further in the competition. France have a massive amount of talent and while the game will be close France should edge into the Quarter Finals.
Uruguay vs. Portugal
Uruguay won all three of their group games showing a resilience to hold onto the one goal leads they had, only in the final game did they score more than a solitary goal. Portugal started the tournament with the mouthwatering 3-3 draw with Spain but seemed to struggle against the weaker teams, a win and a draw followed but they managed to make it into the next round. Uruguay and Portugal have talent in their squad but the likes of Suarez, Cavani, and Ronaldo standout amongst the talent. If the group stage is anything to go by then this will be a cagey affair one which is might go to extra time, but Portugal and Ronaldo should edge into the Quarter Finals. If Argentina manage to reach the next round and Portugal do the same it will setup an amazing clash between Argentina and Portugal and two certain players.
