World Cup R16 Day 4 Preview

A day of tough games.

Sweden vs. Switzerland

Sweden lost only one game in their group which came against Germany in the final minutes. Switzerland managed to squeeze into the Round of 16 with a couple of draws and a win their group stage. Sweden have impressed with their physicality and resilience in defence while also managing to score a couple of goals on the way. Switzerland have a similar persona about them with some added pace in their attack. This should be a very close game between two evenly matched teams. The game could go to penalties but Switzerland might edge into the Quarter-Finals.

Colombia vs. England

Colombia having lost their opening game to Japan did well to bounce back and qualify top of the group. England opened their World Cup with a close game against Tunisia but hammered Panama and lost their final game against Belgium after both teams played their respective B teams. Colombia have the pace and power around the pitch but might miss Rodriguez if he does not play. The same can be said for England who have a clean bill of health and the same power and pace in their team. With the likes of Spain, Argentina, Germany, and Portugal out of the competition both teams will be licking their lips to reach the final. England will not get a better chance and while this will be a free scoring games the better defence will go through. England to edge into the Quarter-Finals.
