Chelsea 1 vs. 1 Liverpool MW 7 Review

A highly entertaining game which perhaps got its deserved result.

After a great win at Anfield in the League Cup both teams played each other again in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool made several changes to their team while Chelsea also had their proper starting XI back for the game. Chelsea had the better first half as we hit the blocks running. A brilliant passage of play led to Chelsea taking the lead in the 25th minute. Kovacic had a great inter change with Jorginho and then played a brilliant pass into Hazard’s pass who smashed it by Alisson to give Chelsea the lead. Liverpool had the better second half as they took their press to another level and huffed and puffed at the Chelsea goal but the Blues held on. Three points seemed to be in the bag for Chelsea but Sturridge hit a brilliant long range effort in the 89th minute with his only touch of the game to maintain Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the League season.

Chelsea had a brilliant performance and many people externally are now realising the fact that Chelsea could pose a threat to City, and Liverpool for the title this season. Winning it seems like a stretch but Chelsea will probably make it an exciting race. Player wise Kepa had a brilliant game after making some key saves during the game. Azpilicueta and Alonso struggled with the pace of Salah, and Mane at times during the game, but Rudiger and especially Luiz were very solid at the back. Jorginho was at his passing best, Kante was great as usual but Kovacic perhaps had his best game in Chelsea blue and showed what an asset he will be during the season. Willian was poor and honestly I hope he is sold so that Hudson-Odoi gets more chances in the team. Giroud was good at linking up play but it would be nice if he starts chipping in with goals. Hazard continues his amazing streak and hopefully it lasts the whole season. Moses was decent when he came on while Barkley also had his moments. Morata was not great although he should get a few goals in the Europa League at least.

Chelsea remain unbeaten as we head into our game in the Europa League against Videoton. A highly changed squad is expected as several key players should get a rest. Sarriball is developing and people are starting to take notice, its what we do best at Chelsea when the attention is not on us we always perform better. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
