1 step forward 1 step back at the moment.
Chelsea were dealt their second defeat of the season as they lost to Wolves 2-1 at the Molineux. Sarri switched up the lineup as he started Christensen in place of Luiz, Fabregas, and Loftus Cheek in place of Jorginho, and Kovacic. Morata and Willian joining Hazard. I liked the lineup although I would have hoped to see Emerson start the game. Loftus-Cheek gave Chelsea the lead via a deflected shot in the 18th minute as Chelsea dominated the game for 60 minutes with Wolves getting several yellow cards in the process. Jimenez though scored in the 59th minute and Jota scored in the 63rd minute to switch the scoreline on its head and seal three very important points for Wolves.
Kepa was great and was not at fault for both goals that went in. Azpi, Rudiger, and Christensen were good but Alonso had another off game as fans all over ask themselves what Emerson has to do to be given a chance. In my opinion Emerson has to start against City otherwise we could see them run riot. Fabregas was decent while Kante had a relatively poor game as he misplaced several passes. Loftus-Cheek was great and if Chelsea had managed to win or atleast get a point then his performance would have been talked about even more. Hazard was missing while Morata, had no impact as well. Willian was abysmal and I am literally counting down the days till he leaves the club. Chelsea now drop into 4th place behind Spurs once more and go into the game against City needing a point or more to keep them in the race for the top four. Chelsea played well against Wolves but the key problem is that the players are not clinical enough and until Chelsea do not solve that problem we might need to suffer a few more losses.
Next up City and hopefully we can get a point or more though I will always hope for the win! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
