Weekend Football Preview

Festive fixtures in full flow.

Premier League MW 18

Wolverhampton vs. Liverpool

The weekend’s football action starts on Friday night as Liverpool travel to Wolves. Liverpool are flying high and remain the only unbeaten team in the league as they sit 1st. Wolves have done well to climb up the table in recent weeks as they sit 7th in the league. Liverpool face a tough test as Wolves have already made it difficult for a couple of top 6 teams at home this season and Liverpool will need to bring their A game if they want to get any points.

Arsenal vs. Burnley

Arsenal sit 5th having lost Southampton last weekend and then backing up that loss by getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Spurs. Arsenal now look to return to winning ways against 18th place Burnley who have been far from great this season. A perfect game for Arsenal to get three points but could Burnley manage a point?

Bournemouth vs. Brighton

Two teams in good form go head to head as 11th placed Bournemouth face off against 13th placed Brighton. Too close of a game to call but Brighton are away and Bournemouth are strong at home. The game should go Bournemouth’s way but only just.

Huddersfield vs. Southampton

19th vs. 17th as Huddersfield take on Southampton. Huddersfield have been poor this season and are relegation favourites. Southampton were in the same boat up to last week but Hassenhutl managed to beat Arsenal in his first home game and Southampton have too good of a squad to get relegated. A tough game but Southampton to win it.

Man City vs. Crystal Palace

City should win this game as Palace are 15th and too inconsistent this season. They have picked up a bit of form in recent weeks but City should be a team to far.

Newcastle vs. Fulham

Newcastle recovered from poor form early season to sit at 14th while Fulham have not won in a couple of games. Newcastle should win the game but it wont be easy. Fulham need to be solid defensively to stand any chance.

West Ham vs. Watford

9th vs. 10th as West Ham go up against Watford. The teams are both in similar form and either team could win the game it should be a fun London derby.

Cardiff City vs. Man United

Mourinho is gone he got sacked midweek and was replaced for the remainder of the season by Solskjaer the ex United player. Mourinho’s failings were a culmination of his management style and the United boards failings in management. Cardiff will be bummed but they are strong at home and they could manage a point or more against United but United will be looking to get a manager bounce.

Everton vs. Tottenham

3rd vs. 8th with both teams doing well. Tottenham are strong but an away game to Everton are strong at home and it could be a very interesting game.

La Liga MW 17

Atletico play Espanyol at home, Barcelona play Celta Vigo, Sevilla travel to Leganes, and Real travel to Villareal. Barcelona are leading La Liga but simple results could change the shape of the table.

Serie MW 17

Napoli play SPAL, Milan play Fiorentina, Inter travel to Chievo, and the important game comes as Roma travel to Turin to play Juventus.

Bundesliga MW 17

1st vs. 2nd as Dortmund play Monchengladbach, Leipzig play Werder Bremen, Bayern travel to Frankfurt, and Mainz travel to Hoffenheim. An important weekend of German football especially at the top.

Ligue MW 19

Marseille travel to Angers, Monaco play Guingamp, Montpellier play Lyon, PSG play Nantes, and Lille play Toulouse. Last week of French football right before the New Year.
