Heading in the right direction!
With the Winter transfer window officially open Chelsea have acted fast signing Christian Pulisic from Dortmund and loaning him back to the German club for the rest of the season. Pulisic is a 20 year old American winger who predominantly played on the right but can also play on the left or behind the striker if called upon. Chelsea have signed the player for 57 million pounds. With a potential transfer ban coming this time next year Chelsea need to act quick to sign the players they want and get ready for a couple of windows without transfers. Pulisic is a step in the right direction.
Many fans are worried that Pulisic’s signing spells the end for Hazard at Chelsea as he might head to Madrid in the summer now. I believe that is not the case as Hazard plays on the left and and there is no chance in the world that Pulisic would be Hazard’s replacement. The most likely scenario is that Pulisic is signed for the long term and he will be one of the players to replace Willian and Pedro at right wing. Willian and Pedro are both 30 or above and are waining in the impact they make for the club on the pitch. Another concern is what Pulisic’s signing means for 18 year old Hudson-Odoi. This also should not be a concern as Hudson-Odoi prefers to play on the left and would be an understudy to Hazard in any case. A contract is on the table for Hudson-Odoi and he is delaying on signing the contract as he wants to get assurances. Bayern Munich are interested in CHO but Chelsea should do whatever they can to keep him at the club. Pulisic also allows Chelsea to get a greater grasp of the American market with him being a shining star for the country. Some fans are saying he is an American Willian but that is not the case he might have similar stats but he is 20 years old not 30 and under Sarri he could improve massively.
With a mass exodus due at Chelsea and with Willian, Pedro, and Moses due to vacate the right wing position Chelsea’s signing of Pulisic is a brilliant one. Pulisic wears the no 22 shirt so I wonder what that means to Willian. The first of many signings I hope, Fekir next maybe?! COME ON YOU BLUES!!
