Window of loans!

Premier League

Arsenal –

The only incoming player at Arsenal was Denis Suarez on a 6 month loan from Barcelona on deadline day. Arsenal and Emery stated that they had no money to make permanent signings and anyone coming in would come on loan. Emiliano Martinez and Emil Smith-Rowe left on loan to Reading, and RB Leipzig respectively. Suarez is mainly a CM and Arsenal will be hoping he can help them seal a place in the top four.

Bournemouth – 

Defender Mepham signed from Brentford for 12 million pounds, forward Solanke joined form Liverpool for 19 million pounds and right back Clyne joined from Liverpool on loan. Several players also left Bournemouth on loan with defender Mings going to Villa, and Defoe joining Gerard’s Rangers. Bournemouth will hope that Solanke and Clyne will help them seal a top 10 finish and maybe even a place in the Europa League.

Brighton – 

Brighton signed AM Alexis Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors, CF Jan Mlakar from Maribor, and DM Tudor Cristian Baluta from Viitorul Constanta. No one of note left Brighton. The signings are all 20 years old and below and so they are probably players for the future. 

Burnley – 

The only incoming player at Burnley was Peter Crouch on deadline day as he signed on loan from Stoke City in a player swap for Sam Vokes. Burnley are fighting for survival and maybe a top ten finish and Peter Crouch’s experience could help them out. 

Cardiff City – 

Cardiff City started the window off by signing Oumar Niasse on loan from Everton, and followed that up with signing Emiliano Sala a forward from Nantes in a club record deal. Sala took a private plane from Nantes to Cardiff and it crashed somewhere in the english channel and he has not been found yet although fans and people world wide still hold out hope he is alive. Cardiff also signed Bacuna from Reading for 3 million pounds on deadline day. Cardiff are fighting for survival and these will be necessary reinforcements. 

Chelsea – 

Chelsea brought in Pulisic and Higuain in the winter window. Pulisic was loaned back to Dortmund for the season with several other players also leaving the club. Moses left on loan to Fenerbahce, Palmer left on loan to Bristol City, Lewis Baker joined Reading on loan, Matt Miazga also joined Reading on loan, Morata joined Atletico on loan, Baba Rahman joined Stade Reims on loan, Piazon joined Chievo on loan, and Michy Batshuayi joined Crystal Palace on loan. Chelsea are fighting for a top four place and will be hoping Michy can do damage elsewhere for them. 

Crystal Palace – 

Palace signed goalkeeper Lucas Perri from Sau Paulo, Bakary Sako returns a midfielder returns to Palace signed from West Brom on a free, and Michy Batshuayi signs on loan from Chelsea. Michy is a great signing for Palace and if he can get firing he could get the Eagles a top ten finish. Puncheon and Sorloth left on loan to Huddersfield and Gent respectively.

Everton – 

No one in at Everton but Cuco Martina left on loan to Feyenoord.

Fulham – 

Ryan Babel joins from Besiktas, Nordtveit joins from Hoffenheim on loan, and Lazar Markovic joines from Liverpool on loan. Kamara left to Turkey on loan. Fulham have made some decent signings in their quest to seal survival for next season. 

Huddersfield – 

Karlan Grant, and Jaden Brown joined from Charlton and Tottenham while Jason Puncheon was signed from Palace on loan. Huddersfield are going to be relegated and so these signings are more for next season. Sobhi and Van La Parra, joined Al Ahly and Middlesbrough on loan. 

Leicester –

Leicester only brought Youri Tielemans on loan from Monaco while, Iborra left for Villareal on a permanent deal, Adrien Silva left on loan to Monaco, and Andy King left on loan to Derby. Leicester are pushing for a Europa League place and Tielemans should add some potential to the midfield. 

Liverpool – 

No one in at Liverpool, but Clyne and Solanke leave the club. 

Man City – 

No one in at City but Brahim Diaz leaves permanently to Real Madrid for 22 million pounds. 

Man United – 

No one in at United. 

Newcastle – 

Almiron signs on a permanent deal from DC United for a club record fee while Barecca also joins on loan from Monaco. Newcastle are pushing for safety this season and the signings should add some creativity for the midfield.

Southampton – 

No one in at Southampton although Gabbiadini left on a permanent deal to Sampdoria, Hoedt leaves on loan to Celta Vigo, and Cedric joins Inter Milan on loan. 

Tottenham – 

No one in at Tottenham although N’koudou leaves on loan to Monaco. 

Watford – 

No one in at Watford. 

West Ham – 

No one in at West Ham. 

Wolverhampton – 

Jonny’s loan deal was made permanent for 18 million pounds as he joined from Atletico. Several fringe players left on loan or on permanent deals. 

La Liga

Morata joined Atletico on loan, defenders Todibo, and Murillo joined Barcelona from Toulouse and Valencia while Kevin-Prince Boateng also joined a club in a surprising move from Sassuolo. Real Madrid signed Brahim Diaz from Man City. Munir El Haddadi joined Sevilla from Barcelona. As the teams are still close in La Liga many of these transfers might help the clubs fulfil their goals. 

Serie A

Inter toughened up their defence with Cedric Soares from Southampton and Gravillon from Pescara. Juventus re signed Caceres on loan, Milan made some good signings in Piatek, and Paqueta from Genoa and Flamengo respectively. Serie A is in Juventus’s control but the race for top four is still very close and Milan have made some shrewd signings. 


Bayern signed Winger Alphonso Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps, Dortmund signed Leonardo Balerdi a centre back from Boca Juniors, while also selling Pulisic to Chelsea who was loaned back for the season. Kagawa, Isak, and Toljan all left on loan. Leipzig brought in Amadou Haidara and loaned in Emil Smith Rowe from Arsenal. Bundesliga is close but Dortmund are doing well and have been consistent at the top. 


Marseille signed Balotelli, Monaco brought in Ballo-Toure, Naldo, Gelson Martins, Adrien Silva, N’Koudou, and Fabregas as they look to seal safety for the season. PSG signed Leandro Paredes from Zenit St.Petersburg. PSG have won Ligue 1 and all thats left is the race for top four.
