The lower teams provide the drama!

Premier League MW 27

Cardiff City 1 vs. 5 Watford

Games on friday got the matchweek onto a flying start as Watford thrashed Cardiff away from home. Deulofeu scored in the 18th minute to give Watford the lead and Cardiff kept it that way until the second half. Deulofeu then reached another gear as on the counter he scored in the 61st and 63rd minute to complete his hattrick and Watford’s first hattrick as well. Deeney then added a 4th in the 73rd minute, Bamba scored a consolation goal in the 82nd minute for Cardiff but Deeney made sure that Watford ended the game on a positive note. Watford move into 7th with the win while Cardiff remain 17th.

West Ham 3 vs. 1 Fulham

Fulham took the lead in this London derby as Babel opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. Fulham though melted away as Chicharito scored in the 29th minute via a cheeky hand ball and Issa Diop gave the Hammers the lead in the 40th minute with a header. Antonio then sealed matters off in the 91st minute. Fulham could not reply and now find themselves 8 points off of safety while West Ham move into 9th.

Burnley 2 vs. 1 Tottenham

Tottenham were supposed to show that they are title challengers but a cagey first half made matters tough in the second. Wood gave Burnley the lead in the 57th minute but the returning Kane equalised in the 65th minute to give Spurs hope. Barnes then snatched that hope away with a goal in the 83rd minute. A massive win for Burnley as they move into 14th while Tottenham lose a game and find themselves 6 points off the top in 3rd.

Bournemouth 1 vs. 1 Wolverhampton

A game of penalties as King scored a penalty in the 14th minute to give Bournemouth the lead and Jimenez scored a penalty in the 83rd minute to equalise for Wolves. Bournemouth though move into 10th with the point while Wolves drop down into 8th with the point.

Newcastle 2 vs. 0 Huddersfield

This was a must win game for Newcastle and win they did as Rondon and Perez scored in the 2nd half to seal three points for the Magpies. It could have been more but Lossl pulled off some decent saves and Newcastle hit the post twice. Smith was also sent off for Huddersfield in the 20th minute. Newcastle move into 15th with the win while Huddersfield are bottom and 14 points off of safety.

Leicester 1 vs. 4 Crystal Palace

A highly important game for both teams as Michy scored his first Palace goal to give them the lead in the 40th minute. Evans equalised for Leicester but they seemed to drop off as Zaha restored Palace’s lead in the 70th minute. Milivojevic scored in the 81st minute and Zaha added the 4th and his 2nd in the 93rd minute. The result saw Leicester remain 12th but Puel get the sack as Leicester now search for a new manager. Palace remain 13th but only 2 points behind Leicester.

Arsenal 2 vs. 0 Southampton

Lacazette and Mkhitaryan scored in the opening 20 minute as they held on for a 2-0 victory against the Saints. It was far from convincing by the Gunners but they got the job done. Arsenal move back into 4th with the win while Southampton remain 18th.

Man United 0 vs. 0 Liverpool

Klopp could be seen telling Ole what a shit game this was and he was not wrong. The only highlights were the 4 subs that occurred in the 1st half 3 of which were United’s. Herrera first went off in the 21st minute followed by Mata in the 25 minute. Perreira came on for Herrera and Lingard for Mata but Lingard was already recovering from a hamstring injury and he went off in the 43rd minute to be replaced by Sanchez.
