Chelsea vs. Wolverhampton Preview

The fight for top four continues!

Chelsea take welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge on Super Sunday. Chelsea are 6th in the table while Wolves are 7th but there is a 13 point gap between the two teams. With Arsenal and United playing each other in the fixture after this game this is a crucial game for Chelsea as it could potentially see us climb the table. Wolves beat Chelsea 2-1 in the reverse fixture last year and it is added impetus for Chelsea to win this game. Wolves have done really well against the top 6 sides taking points off of Liverpool, Arsenal, City, United and also beating Spurs. In recent weeks Wolves have been inconsistent having drawn one lost one and won one which was their game against Cardiff. Jimenez, Moutinho, Neves, Doherty, Jota all continue to be a potent threat for Wolves on the counter while they play their own expansive form of football as well.

Chelsea go into this game on a 3 game winning run and look to make it a 4th. Sarri has said that he has learned from the trip to Wolves and is hoping that this game adds three points to Chelsea. Chelsea have been in good form and while Fulham were not blown away we still got the job done and Kyiv could have easily had 8 goals put past them if Pedro was in a finishing mindset.

Chelsea Team Preview

Chelsea have a fit squad to select from, Kepa should start in goal with Azpi, Rudiger, Luiz, and Emerson in defence. Jorginho, Kante should start in midfield but RLC should start alongside them. Sarri has stated that RLC will be ready to play 90 minute in 2 to 3 weeks but maybe take him off after 60. Up front Hazard and Higuain should start and while my heart wants CHO to start my mind says it might be Pedro.

Wolverhampton Team Preview

Wolves have a full squad to select from with Bennett being the only player out.
