Midweek Football Preview

Double gameweek fixtures!

Premier League MW 33, 27, 31

Watford vs. Fulham

Watford saw themselves drop to 10th with their loss at the weekend but with a game in hand a win against Fulham would take them up to 7th place. Fulham are 16 points off of safety as they sit 19th, they are slowly moving towards being the second team to get relegated this season. It is a London Derby and while it could be feisty, Watford should have enough to seal the win.

Wolverhampton vs. Man United

Wolves lost to Burnley in a shock defeat as they still remain 7th but could potentially fall down the table. United just about managed a win against Watford as Watford were clearly the better side throughout the game. With Arsenal to play the top four is looking like a massive race as only a point separates 6th and 3rd at the moment. Wolves are known as the top 6 killers and they will be seeking a win and having beat United in the cup this should be a fiery game. Hopefully Wolves can win.

Man City vs. Cardiff City

2nd vs. 18th as Cardiff travel to Manchester having been robbed in sorts of a victory against Chelsea at the weekend. The loss sees them 5 points behind 17th placed Burnley and another loss could make the future bleak for Cardiff. Liverpool beat Tottenham and went back to the top and so City entertain Cardiff needing 3 points to return to the lead. City should easily win this game.

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace

Tottenham have 4 losses and a draw in their last five games as they inaugurate their new stadium on Wednesday. From being “title contenders” they find themselves in a battle for top four as Palace visit them for a London derby looking to spoil the occasion. Palace are 13th and could move up to 12 with a win and hopefully Michy and co can do the rest of the top four a favour.

La Liga MW 30

Girona travel to Atletico, Barcelona travel to Villarreal, Real Madrid travel to Valencia, and Sevilla entertain Alaves. Barcelona maintain their 10 point gap while the battle for 2nd heats up.

Serie MW 30

Milan entertain Udinese, Juventus travel to Cagliari, Napoli travel to Empoli, Roma entertain Fiorentina, and Inter travel to Genoa. Juventus still have their 15 point gap but the race for top four is heating up as Inter and Milan need wins otherwise Atalanta, and Lazio could enter the top four.

DFB Pokal Quarter-Finals

Paderborn vs. Hamburg for what is an all Bundesliga 2 quarter final. Paderborn are 4th while Hamburg are 2nd. Augsburg vs. Leipzig in an all Bundesliga quarter final, Augsburg are 15th while Leipzig are 3rd. Bayern play Heidenheim who are 6th in Bundesliga 2 for what should be a straight forward quarter final. The final quarter-final is an all Bundesliga tie as Schalke entertain Werder Bremen, Schalke are 14th while Werder Bremen are 6th.

Coupe De France Semi-Finals

Lyon entertain Rennes in semi-final one and PSG entertain Nantes in semi-final two. PSG should easily dispatch Nantes while Lyon and Rennes should be a closer tie.
