Premier League MW 33, 27, 31

Watford 4 vs. 1 Fulham

Fulham became the second team to get relegated for this season as they follow Huddersfield into the Championship next season. Watford thrashed them in the London Derby with Doucoure giving Watford the lead in the 23rd minute. Babel then equalised for Fulham in the 33rd minute but Watford came out for the second half as the better side. Hughes, Deeney, and Femenia scored to seal the deal. Watford rose back into 8th with the win. 

Wolverhampton 2 vs. 1 Man United

Wolves continued to raise their reputation as top 6 killers by beating United at home. McTominay gave United the lead in the 13th minute as they looked to win the game but Jota equalised in the 25th minute. United were not great and Smalling scored an own goal in the 77th minute to seal the win. Ashley Young was earlier sent off in the 57th minute. Wolves remain 7th with the win while United drop into 6th, 2 points behind Chelsea who are 5th and 3 behind Tottenham who are 3rd. 

Man City 2 vs. 0 Cardiff City

Robots City continued their push for the title with a routine win against Cardiff. De Bruyne and Sane scored in the first half to seal the win. Cardiff stood no real chance of causing an upset and they find themselves stuck in 18th, 5 points behind Burnley. City return to the top of the table, 1 point ahead of Liverpool. 

Tottenham 2 vs. 0 Crystal Palace

Tottenham celebrated a win at their new stadium in what was their first home game. Palace were difficult to break down in the first half as it looked like it would be a tough night, but goals from Son and Eriksen in the 2nd half meant that the fans returned home happy. A win to inaugurate their new stadium takes Tottenham to 3rd, 1 point ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea. Palace remain 13th. 

La Liga MW 30

Atletico beat Girona 2-0, and Barcelona drew with Villarreal 4-4 in what was a ridiculous game of football. Coutinho and Malcom gave Barca the lead within 16 minute but Chukwueze got one back for Villarreal in the 23rd minute. Ekambi, Iborra, and Bacca then scored 3 goals in the second half to give Villarreal a 4-2 lead going into the final 10 minutes. Messi and Suarez then scored 2 goals in extra time to get a point for Barca. Valencia beat Real Madrid 2-1 in what was Zidane’s first loss in his 2nd spell. Barca’s lead gets cut down to 8 points while Atletico open up a 5 point gap from 3rd placed Real Madrid. Getafe remain 4th. 

Serie MW 30

Milan and Udinese drew 1-1, Juventus beat Cagliari 0-2, Napoli lost to Empoli 2-1, Roma drew with Fiorentina 2-2, and Inter beat Genoa 0-4. Juventus’s gap at the top increases to 18 points, Napoli remain 2nd, Inter go 4 points clear of 4th placed Milan. Football aside Serie A was marred by the racist chants by Cagliari fans directed towards Juventus youngster Moise Kean. Further comments from Bonucci stating that the fans of Cagliari were at fault but Kean was also at fault for confronting them has got him criticism from every corner of football. In today’s age racism cannot prevail and the way Moise Kean handled the situation was the only way he should have. 

DFB Pokal Quarter-Finals 

Hamburger SV beat Paderborn 0-2, Leipzig beat Augsburg 1-2, and Werder Bremen beat Schalke 0-2. The eye catching match was the game between Bayern and Heidenheim as Bayern just edged it 5-4 after a great display from the Bundesliga 2 side. 

Coupe De France Semi-Finals 

Rennes beat Lyon 2-3 in fiesty semi-final while PSG beat Nantes 3-0 to set up a Rennes vs. PSG final for this seasons Coupe De France.
