Champions League Quarter-Final 1st Leg Review

The 2nd legs will be fiery!

Tottenham 1 vs. 0 Man City

Son scored a 78th minute goal against City to get a 1-0 lead for Spurs to take to Manchester. Spurs new stadium was rocking and City could not reply back as they will look to progress to the next round with a strong showing at home. The worry for Spurs is that Kane came off injured in what looked like a serious knock to the ankle. Tottenham have not been great away from home and City are still very much in the tie.

Liverpool 2 vs. 0 FC Porto

Keita and Firmino scored in the first half to give Liverpool a good win to take to Lisbon and kept Porto from scoring goals. Liverpool could have scored more but missed several chances as their Champions League form continues to go from strength to strength. Bar some miracle Liverpool should progress to the semi-finals, although Porto will give it their all.

Ajax 1 vs. 1 Juventus

Ronaldo scored in the final minute of the first half to give Juventus the lead and Neres scored in the first minute of the 2nd half to restore parity between the two sides. Ajax were never going to be pushovers and Juventus did get an crucial away goal to take to Turin. Ajax are still very much in the tie and if they can get an away goal things could get very interesting. Juventus are strong at home but this fixture is far from over.

Man United 0 vs. 1 Barcelona

Luke Shaw scored an own goal in the 12th minute which was really a Suarez header which gave Barcelona the lead early on. Barca though could not finish the rest of their chances and United actually pushed the Catalonian side and there were several nervy moments. United will feel that they are still in the tie but going to the Camp Nou is a different prospect and so Barcelona could be looking at a place in the semi-finals.
