The title race continues!
Premier League MW 34
Leicester 0 vs. 1 Newcastle
An unexpected win for Newcastle as Leicester’s winning run came to an end. Perez scored a goal in the 32nd minute to seal the three points for Newcastle. Newcastle remain 15th while Leicester remain 7th.
Tottenham 4 vs. 0 Huddersfield
Wanyama scored the opener while Moura then scored a hattrick as Tottenham remain 3rd in the table with the win. Huddersfield continue their farewell to the Premier League with another defeat.
Brighton 0 vs. 5 Bournemouth
There were 5 different scorers in Bournemouth’s thrashing of Brighton as Gosling, Fraser, Brooks, Wilson and Stanislas all scored. Bournemouth rose to 12th with the win while Brighton drop into 17th but are 5 points clear of the relegation zone.
Burnley 2 vs. 0 Cardiff City
Burnley got three points against Cardiff with goals from Wood in either half. Burnley remain 14th with the win while Cardiff suffer another defeat and remain 18th and in the relegation zone.
Fulham 2 vs. 0 Everton
With nothing to lose Fulham got a win as Cairney and Babel scored in the 1st and 2nd half to seal the win for Fulham. Everton are decent against higher opposition but much like the teams around them they suffer against the bottom 10. The win keeps Fulham 19th while Everton are 9th in the table.
Southampton 3 vs. 1 Wolverhampton
Wolves are going through a rough patch as they suffered another defeat to bottom table opposition, this time in the form of Southampton. Redmond scored in the 2nd minute before Boly equalised for Wolves in the 28th. The scoreline was short lived as Redmond scored once again in the 30th minute to put Southampton back in front. Long then scored in the 71st minute to seal the three points. Southampton move into 16th with the win while Wolves remain 8th.
Man United 2 vs. 1 West Ham
Pogba scored a penalty in the 19th minute as Anderson equalised in the 49th minute for West Ham. Pogba then scored another penalty in the 80th minute to seal the win for United. United were extremely poor during the game but luck went their way and United move to within 2 points of Chelsea who are 4th.
Crystal Palace 1 vs. 3 Man City
Sterling scored goals in the 15th and 63rd minute while Jesus rounded matters off in the 90th minute for City. Palace did score in the 81st minute via Milivojevic but it was nothing more than consolation. City continue their ruthless streak but Liverpool’s win means that they remain 2nd, 2 points behind Liverpool but with a game in hand.
La Liga MW 32
Barcelona drew with Huesca while Atletico beat Celta Vigo 2-0. Barcelona’s lead at the top of the table gets cut down to 9 points but Atletico still need a miracle to win the league.
Serie A MW 32
SPAL beat Juventus 2-1, Roma beat Udinese 1-0, Milan beat Lazio 1-0, Napoli beat Chievo 1-3, and Inter beat Frosinone 1-3. Juventus have to wait another week to celebrate the tile as their lead gets cut down to 17 points. The fight for the top four still goes on.
Bundesiga MW 29
Leipzig beat Wolfsburg 2-0, Monchengladbach beat Hannover 1-0, Dortmund beat Mainz 2-1, Bayern beat Dusseldorf 1-4, and Augsburg beat Frankfurt 1-3. Bayern lead the table by 1 point while Leipzig and Frankfurt remain 3rd and 4th.
Ligue 1 MW 32
Nantes beat Lyon 2-1, Marseille beat Nimes 2-1, Monaco drew with Stade Reims 0-0, and Lille thrashed PSG 5-1. PSG could have been celebrating the title over the last few weeks but they slipped up again and in a massive loss. Lille cut down PSG’s lead to 17 points although PSG still have a game in hand.
