Champions League Semi-Final 1st Leg Review

Two great games!

Tottenham 0 vs. 1 Ajax

Ajax dominated the first half of the game and got a lead through Van De Beek in the 15th minute. Lloris made several saves as the young Ajax team cut Tottenham apart on several occasions to make chances. Tottenham never got a grip of the game and the Spurs players largely felt like passengers. Ajax have got an away goal but Spurs will feel that if they can get one or two in Amsterdam then they would be back in it. Much to do for both teams in the 2nd leg.

Barcelona 3 vs. 0 Liverpool

Barcelona started the game of brilliantly in the first half as Suarez scored the opener in the 26th minute due to a lapse in concentration from Van Dijk. Liverpool then began the 2nd half in another gear and dominated the 45 minutes creating chance after chance but not managing to put the ball in the back of the net. Messi then scored a lucky goal against the run of play in the 75th minute. Messi was then brought down by Fabinho in the 82nd minute and he scored a brilliant free-kick to seal 600 goals for Barcelona and give Barca a decent 3-0 lead. Barca will be wary from last season where they let such a lead go in the 2nd leg which saw them get knocked out and Liverpool will know that they played well but it just was not their day. Barca with one foot in the final and if they can get an away goal then thats job done.
