Chelsea 3 vs. 0 Watford Review

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEALED & THANKS TO ARSENAL DELIVERED!

On Sunday Chelsea sealed Champions League for next season due to a great 2nd half performance and Arsenal’s inability to beat Brighton. Sarri selected the expected lineup with the usual rotations. Kepa started the game, Azpi, Christensen, Luiz, and Alonso started at the back, Jorginho, Kante, and Kovacic started in the midfield, and Hazard, Higuain, and Pedro started upfront. Chelsea were really poor in the 1st half as Watford ran our defence ragged thanks to players like Deeney, and Deulofeu. To top things up Kante got injured in the 1st half and Loftus-Cheek came on. RLC brought some added tenacity to the midfield and that showed bright in the 2nd half. Watford started the 2nd with a lighter press and Chelsea took advantage. Hazard crossed the ball and RLC headed in the opener in the 48th minute, David Luiz then banged in another header in the 51st minute. Suddenly Chelsea were 2-0 up and had scored headers from the corner. Chelsea shifted gears in the 2nd half and RLC in particular ran the Watford players ragged it was brilliant and his influence on the team continues to grow. Pedro then played in Higuain who chipped in for the third in the 75th minute. Higuain had been poor but he got the goal and so if it was his last performance at Stamford Bridge then at least he got a goal similar to Morata. Cahill also came on for a farewell appearance in the final few minutes which he deserved after all he has achieved with the club.

Chelsea then conducted a lap of honour with everyone thanking the crowd for their seasons support. No special farewell for Hazard and so a slight hope remains that he could sign an extension. 2 hours later Chelsea were assured a top four place thanks to Arsenal failing to beat Brighton and so Sarri achieves target no 1 and probably the most important objective. Everyone slagged of Chelsea and Sarri but we managed to get it and so we can start building for next season. Kepa got another clean sheet, the defence was shaky but toughened up in the 2nd half. Jorginho and RLC were brilliant while Kovacic is probably heading back to Madrid although he could be back up to Jorginho. Hazard was great, Higuain got a goal and Pedro was lively.

Onto Frankfurt now where we can focus on a trophy now without the worry of top four. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
