The race continues!
Club Brugge vs. Paris Saint Germain
PSG lead group A with two wins as they remain the only team in the group that has won a game. Brugge are 2nd with two draws and two points. Since the last game where PSG beat Galatasaray the Parisiens have played 2 won 2 in the league scoring 8 goals in the process. Neymar has picked up an injury but Cavani and Mbappe are back while Icardi and Di Maria are also in good form. Club Brugge took an early lead against Real but the Spaniards clawed back for a point and Brugge have since won both their games domestically having scored 5 goals. Brugge showed enough against Madrid to make it seem that this game will be a difficult one for PSG, PSG should win but Brugge could sneak a point or more.
Galatasaray vs. Real Madrid
3rd vs. 4th as both teams seek their first win in the Champions League this season. Galatasaray lost to PSG and have since drawn 1 game and won 2 narrow 3-2 games. Real Madrid fought back to draw against Club Brugge in a game they should have won and have since won 1 and lost 1. Turkey is always a tough place to travel to and Galatsaray will know that this Real side has some cracks in their armour. Real have the quality and really need to win this game to take back control of their own path. A close game.
Tottenham vs. Red Star Belgrade
2nd placed Red Star beat Olympiacos on the last match day as they travel to London to play 3rd placed Tottenham. Tottenham were total shambles as they lost 2-7 to Bayern and they followed that up with a 0-3 defeat and a narrow draw against Watford thanks to VAR in the final minutes. Red Star have since played 3 and won 3 as they take on Spurs with good momentum. Once again on paper Spurs should win this game but Red Star have no reason to be frightened and the Serbians can easily leave London with all three points if they are focused.
Olympiacos vs. Bayern Munich
Bayern have played 2 won 2 in Europe this season but domestically they have struggled since their win against Spurs as they lost 1 and drew the other. Olympiacos have won both their games in the Greek league since losing to Red Star and will hope that the crowd and atmosphere act as a 12th man against Bayern. Bayern’s game to lose.
Man City vs. Atalanta
1st vs. 4th as table leaders Man City take on bottom team Atalanta. City have won both their games till now but have lost 1 and won 1 domestically since MD 2. Atalanta have won 1 and drawn 1 since their game and while they could cause problems to City the Mancunians should win this game. City’s defence might be shaky but their front line is enough for this situation.
Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Dinamo Zagreb
These teams have both 1 and lost 1 as they take on each other in Donetsk. Shakhtar have since played 3 games winning all 3 and scoring 10 goals in the process while Dinamo have played 3 won 2 and drawn 1. A really close game is expected with two teams at similar levels but Shakhtar have the pedigree in recent years and so could edge the game.
Atletico Madrid vs. Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer are looking for their first points in the Champions League this season as they travel to Madrid to play 2nd placed Atletico. Atletico have struggled domestically and have drawn both their games since beating Lokomotiv. Bayer have also had similar fortunes as they have drawn 1 and lost 1 since losing to Juventus. These two teams are in need of some momentum and this should be a close game with Atletico edging it on quality.
Juventus vs. Lokomotiv Moskva
Juventus take on Lokomotiv with only a point separating the two teams. Juventus have won both their games since beating Bayer although they were narrow wins while Lokomotiv have also won both their games. Juventus have enough quality to win this game and should get three points.
Genk vs. Liverpool
Bottom placed Genk take on Champions League holders and 2nd placed Liverpool at home. Genk have won 1 and lost 1 since managing a point against Napoli while Liverpool have won 1 and drawn 1. Liverpool might seem to be dominating games but they have been extremely lucky on several occasions this season and so Genk if they stay solid could manage at least a point against Klopp and his men.
Red Bull Salzburg vs. Napoli
3rd vs 1st as Red Bull invite Napoli to Austria. Red Bull have won 1 and drawn 1 since narrowly losing to Liverpool while Napoli have drawn 1 and won 1. Red Bull have a seriously exciting team with some promising young players that can cause Napoli several problems. Napoli have the quality as well and so this should be an interesting game to watch.
Slavia Praha vs. Barcelona
Slavia Praha search for their first win as they entertain Barcelona at home. Barcelona sit 2nd in the table having won both their games since beating Inter and scoring 7 goals in the process. Slavia have also won both their games since losing to Dortmund and sit top of the Czech League. Messi, Griezmann, and Suarez all scored at the weekend and are all available and while Praha could make it difficult it should be an inevitable Barcelona win.
Inter Milan vs. Borussia Dortmund
Inter seek their first win in Europe as the invite Dortmund who sit 1st in the table. Inter lost in the 2nd half to Barcelona and have since lost 1 and won 1 in Italy as their winning start ended. Dortmund have drawn 1 and won 1 in Germany as they look to extend their lead at the top. A very close game and one that Conte needs to win to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stages.
RB Leipzig vs. Zenit
Leaders Zenit travel to Germany to play 3rd placed Leipzig in the group of death. Zenit have played 2 won 2 since beating Benfica while Leipzig have drawn both their games since losing to Lyon. Two teams with Zenit in better form but Leipzig have the quality and so this is going to be a close game.
Benfica vs. Olympique Lyon
Benfica search for their 1st points as they take on 2nd placed Lyon. Benfica have played 1 and won 1 since losing to Zenit while Lyon have lost 1 and drawn 1. Benfica are in better form domestically while Lyon are struggling and so if their was a team that Benfica were looking to play in the group at the moment then it would be French.
Lille vs. Valencia
Lille are looking to get their first points against Valencia who sit 2nd in the table. Lille have drawn 1 and lost 1 in France since MD 2 while Valencia have won and drawn 1 since their defeat to Ajax. The teams are struggling in their respective leagues and so this should be a close game.
