A good game to bounce back with!
Chelsea take on West Ham in a London derby Saturday we Lampard and the boys look to return to winning ways. Last weekends loss to City was not too heart breaking but we dominated them for 45 minutes and that was a good start. Our midweek trip to Valencia did not go to plan and we were perhaps lucky to leave with a point in the end. West Ham sit 17th and 3 points above the relegation zone as they have lost their last 3 in their league and are winless since beating Man United on the 22nd of September. Pellegrini is under pressure and apparently has two games to save his job but West Ham have been extremely poor. They were 0-3 down against Tottenham and managed to get 2 back though as Tottenham let their guard down.
Chelsea are now 4th and 2 points behind City and so we have to do some catching up, there is no pressure from below us for now but getting back to winning ways is a must. Chelsea have a favourable set of fixtures before we face Spurs and so getting the maximum points would be a good period and bring us back into contention by the end of December.
Chelsea Team Preview
Rudiger is back in training but is still gaining match fitness while RLC still has a way to go. Tammy’s injury was not that bad and he should be back but this game might be too soon for him. Kepa should start in goal, with Emerson, Tomori, Zouma, and Reece James making up the defence. Jorginho, Kovacic, and Mount should make up the midfield while the front three should be Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, and Giroud. Hudson-Odoi, and Giroud deserve to start as Michy has been poor in recent weeks and Willian seems to be returning to his old self. West Ham are a good team to field a youthful side against and hopefully if given a start the likes of CHO can make a positive impact.
West Ham Team Preview
Diop is suspended for the game, while Fabianski, Lanzini, Wilshere, and Reid are all out of contention with injuries. I expect Pellegrini to setup in similar fashion to the game against West Ham in a 4-4-2 formation. Antonio will be a danger and could replace Yarmolenko in the lineup while the likes of Anderson, and Haller are also quality. Fornals also is a good threat from the bench. The biggest miss for West Ham is Fabianksi as his replacement Roberto has been nothing short of horrible since coming into the team. West Ham have a good squad but just maybe need a different manager to unlock it.
Starting XI Prediction
In current form this might seem like an easy game but West Ham have the quality on the pitch to do damage. Chelsea need to win this game though and regain momentum, COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
