Must Must Win!
Chelsea entertain Aston Villa in MW 15 of the Premier League with fixtures coming thick and fast. The loss against West Ham followed 3 negative results and so we need to win this game. Villa are 15th in the league having lost 7 games drawn 3 and won 4 games. Villa’s recent form has seen them pick up 4 points in their last two games after a string of defeats. The win against Newcastle was a big result and the draw against United should have been a win for Villa. Villa have played several of the top 6 teams but they have not been convincingly beaten in any of those games as they have played well and probably deserved a point in some of them and so Chelsea cannot underestimate this game.
City, Valencia, and West Ham has put a break on Lampard’s train and Chelsea are now going through their first real test under our new manager. The biggest problem for several seasons now has been that we have not been clinical enough and it looked like we were over that but the injury to Tammy has been an issue. Chelsea are 6 points ahead of Tottenham and anymore dropped points between now and when we play them could see us drop out of the top four and that would not be great. Our home form has been poor this season and so we need to start picking up points.
Chelsea Team Preview
The usual injured players are out while rumours are that Tammy is back for this game. Kepa should start in goal, Azpilicueta should be back but at left back while Christensen, and Zouma start in defence, Reece James should start at right back once again. Jorginho, and Kante should start in midfield while Hudson-Odoi, Mount, and Pulisic should start behind Tammy. The experienced players in Willian, and Pedro have not offered much and now it is time to stick with the youth and let them dig themselves out of poor form.
Aston Villa Team Preview
Villa should start the same team they played against United. Grealish will be a threat while Trezeguet was also causing problems to United. Mings is strong at the back and that should be an interesting battle with Tammy or whoever starts up front. McGinn is also a player to keep an eye on.
Starting XI Prediction
Terry is back at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as the assistant manager at Villa and that should be a fun reunion between Lampard and him but that should be that. Some time ago we beat Villa 8-0 in a great performance and while that probably wont happen again we need to win this game. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
