Another weekend of great action!

Premier League MW 16

Bournemouth 0 vs. 3 Liverpool

Ox, Keita, and Salah got the three goals as Liverpool comfortably dispatched Bournemouth after a close start. Bournemouth drop into 15th while Liverpool maintain their 8 point lead at the top of the table. 

Tottenham 5 vs. 0 Burnley

Kane and Moura scored within 10 minutes to give Spurs a 2-0 lead. Son then scored one of the goals in Premier League history as he dribbled from his own half to finish past Pope to make it 3. Kane and Sissoko then added two more goals in the 2nd half. Mourinho’s first clean sheet and a return to winning ways after the United loss as Spurs move into 7th. Burnley drop into 13th with the loss with 3 losses in a row now. 

Watford 0 vs. 0 Crystal Palace

A goalless draw as neither team could get one over the other. Watford remain bottom but end the losing streak while Palace drop down to 9th. 

Man City 1 vs. 2 Man United

United are the new top 6 killers as Ole beat Pep at the Etihad to knock another nail in City’s title defence. Rashford scored another penalty in the 23rd minute and Martial scored in the 29th minute. United could have easily had 6 goals in the 1st half as they played well on the counter but Ederson made some decent saves and their was plenty of poor finishing. Otamendi got a goal back in the final 10 minutes of the game but United held on for a big win. City are still 3rd but 6 points behind Leicester, and 14 points behind Liverpool as the title looks all but gone. United move into 5th with the win 5 points behind Chelsea as Ole gets 2 in 2 but the real test for United is against the smaller teams. 

Aston Villa 1 vs. 4 Leicester

Vardy scored in the 8 consecutive game and made it 16 goals for himself as he scored 2 and Evans and Iheanacho chipped in with the other two. Grealish had scored right before half time but the goal could not spur any momentum for Villa. Leicester continue to apply distant pressure to Liverpool as they stay within 8 points of the league leaders. Villa drop down into 17th and level on points with 18th placed Southampton as the relegation zone is now within touching distance. 

Newcastle 2 vs. 1 Southampton

A goalless 1st half saw a feisty 2nd as Southampton got the lead through Ings in the 52nd minute. Shelvey then equalised for Newcastle in the 68th minute and Fernandez scored a winner in the 87th minute to 2 wins in a row for Newcastle. Newcastle move into 10th with the win while Southampton drop back down into 18th. 

Norwich 1 vs. 2 Sheffield United

Tettey gave Norwich the lead in the 27th minute but Stevens and Baldock scored in the 49th minute and 52nd minute to seal a comeback win for the Blades. Sheffield finally get a win after a run of poor games as they move into 8th while Norwich remain 19th and now 4 points from safety. 

Brighton 2 vs. 2 Wolverhampton

Jota gave Wolves the lead in the 28th minute before Maupay equalised for Brighton in the 34th minute. Brighton then got the lead via Propper in the 36th minute but Jota equalised right before half time. The 2nd half saw no goals as the teams shared the point. Brighton move into 12th with the win while Wolves drop into 6th. 

La Liga MW 16

Atletico drew with Villareal 0-0 as they lost more ground on Real and Barcelona, Real beat Espanyol 2-0, Valencia beat Levante 2-4, Barcelona beat Mallorca 5-2 with Messi scoring another hattrick, and Sevilla drew with Osasuna 1-1. Barcelona still lead La Liga on goal difference with Real right behind them, Sevilla and Real Sociedad make up the top four. Atletico are now 7th and 8 points behind Barcelona with Simeone under some pressure. 

Serie MW 15

Inter drew with Roma 0-0, Atalanta beat Verona 3-2, Napoli drew with Udinese 1-1, Lazio beat Juventus 3-1 in a shocking result, and Milan beat Bologna 2-3. Inter create a 2 point lead at the top of the table after Juventus lost their first game of the season. Lazio and Cagliari make up the top four with Roma 5th, Napoli 7th, and Milan 10th. 

Bundesliga MW 14

Frankfurt drew with Hertha 2-2, Monchengladbach beat Bayern in a big win for them at the top of the table, Leipzig beat Hoffenheim 3-1, Dortmund thrashed Dusseldorf 5-0, and Leverkusen beat Schalke 2-1. Monchengladbach have a 1 point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with Leipzig behind them. Dortmund and Schalke make up the top four while Bayern drop down to 7th with a 2nd loss in a row. 

Ligue MW 17

Lille beat Brest 1-0, Lyon beat Nimes 0-4, PSG beat Montpellier 1-3, Rennes beat Angers 2-1, Monaco beat Amiens 3-0, and Marseille beat Bordeaux 3-1. PSG maintain their 5 point lead at the top with a game in hand while Marseille, Lille, and Rennes make up the top four. Monaco are now 11th.
