Need to start winning!
Chelsea have 3 losses in their last 5 as we look to recover from our loss to Everton last weekend with a win against 15th placed Bournemouth who have lost 5 of their last 5. Chelsea are still 4th in the table after are good form early on but silly losses have seen us remain 4th where we should have climbed above City by now. Our midweek win against Lille was a positive moment and hopefully that spurs some good form in the coming games and with Spurs next weekend this game is a must win.
Eddie Howe is not under pressure at Bournemouth but he is in really poor form as injuries also add to the problem. Their last win was the beginning of November against United and they have since lost all their games with some narrow losses but other convincing ones. Taking Bournemouth lightly would only cause Chelsea harm especially with Bournemouth’s recent record at the Bridge and their tendency of pooping our parties. Bournemouth sit 1 point above the relegation zone but a win could see them move up to 13th so there is a lot to play for.
Chelsea Team Preview
Kepa should remain in goal with Reece James coming in for Azpilicueta at right back. Emerson should continue at left back with Zouma and Rudiger remaining our centre backs. Jorginho, Kante and Mount should be our midfield for the game with Kovacic rested while Pulisic, Tammy and Hudson-Odoi should be our front three with Willian dropped to the bench. Hudson-Odoi has a point to prove but he cannot prove it on the bench and so a poor Bournemouth side is a perfect opportunity for him. Jorginho should bring the balance back as he did against Lille and the defence should really concentrate on keeping a clean sheet.
Bournemouth Team Preview
Bournemouth will have Harry Wilson back after he was not able to play against Liverpool due to parent club rules. King is still out with several other players also missing due to injury. Ake might have a point to prove against Chelsea while the likes of Wilson, Fraser and Lerma are always a threat. Solanke might be dropped if Harry Wilson is brought back into the side.
Starting XI Prediction
On paper this is a straightforward game but the players need to make a statement by beating Bournemouth convincingly. This cannot be another West Ham. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
