Liverpool’s lead extended!

Premier League MW 17

Liverpool 2 vs. 0 Watford

Salah scored a goal each towards the end of either half as they comfortably won against Watford. Liverpool extend their lead at the top to 10 points as Leicester drew. Watford remain bottom and still 6 points off of safety but Pearson had a decent first game in charge and now they can start to build properly with Liverpool out of the way.

Burnley 1 vs. 0 Newcastle

Wood scored in the 58th minute as Burnley won a close game against Newcastle. Burnley were on a losing streak while Newcastle on a winning streak and it was going to be a narrow win either way. Burnley move one up into 12th while Newcastle stay 11th but only a point above Burnley now.

Leicester 1 vs. 1 Norwich

Pukki got the ball rolling with a goal in the 26th minute. Leicester were expected to cruise through this game but they hit a blip and it took a Krul own goal in the 38th minute to save a point for the Foxes. Norwich remain 19th but 3 points from safety while Leicester end their winning streak and are now only 4 points ahead of City while 10 behind Liverpool now with the title race quite literally over.

Sheffield United 2 vs. 0 Aston Villa

2 goals from Fleck in the 2nd half made it two wins in two for Chris Wilder as the Blades gain some form. Villa have now suffered 3 defeats in a row as they remain 17th and out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Sheffield climb into 7th with the win level on points with United and 1 behind Spurs who are 5th.

Southampton 0 vs. 1 West Ham

Haller scored in the 37th minute to decide the win between two teams struggling for them. 3 points were massive for both teams and Pellegrini survives another week. Southampton remain 18th and now suffer 2 defeats in a row after 2 wins while West Ham climb one place into 15th.

Man United 1 vs. 1 Everton

This was going to be the real test for Ole and co after beating Tottenham and United and they did not pass with flying colours as they returned back to form with Everton picking up a point when they should have picked three. Lindelof scored an own goal in the 36th minute to give Everton the lead although there was little he could have done about it and it took Greenwood to come off the bench and score in the 77th minute for United to save a point. Everton drop down to 16th with the point while United drop down into 6th with Spurs going above them.

Wolverhampton 1 vs. 2 Tottenham

A tough game for both teams but Mourinho made it 4 wins out of 5 with a late late winner. Moura gave Spurs the lead in the 8th minute but Tottenham were not able to capitalise as Wolves grew into the game. Traore then scored in the 67th minute to equalise for Wolves and it looked like they were heading for a draw but Vertonghen scored in the 91st minute to steal three points for Spurs. Wolves drop into 8th with the loss while Spurs climb up to 5th and now only 3 points behind Chelsea who are 4th. Quite a turnaround.

Arsenal 0 vs. 3 Man City

City were never going to lose two games in a row and they did not as De Bruyne and his team easily dispatched of the Gunners. De Bruyne opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and while Arsenal showed some threat Sterling doubled the lead in the 15th minute. De Bruyne then added a 3rd in the 40th minute and could have completed a first half hattrick if it were not for Leno. The 2nd half saw no action as City were happy with the result. Arsenal remain 9th but now level on points with Palace while City remain 3rd but 6 clear of Chelsea and only 4 behind Leicester.
