Midweek Football Review

Carabao Cup 1st legs done.

Carabao Cup Semi-Final Leg 1

Man United 1 vs. 3 Man City

United started and played well for 17 minutes but Bernardo Silva scored a screamer for City in the 17th minute and it was downhill for United from then. Mahrez and a Pereira own goal made it 0-3 before half time and it the job was finished for City. City took their foot off the gas in the 2nd half and so Rashford was able to get a goal back for United in the 70th minute. The return leg should be a formality for City as they have one foot if not both in the final.

Leicester 1 vs. 1 Aston Villa

Guilbert gave Villa the surprise lead in the 28th minute as Leicester had fielded a really strong side for the game but could not break the Villa defence. Iheanacho then got the equaliser in the 74th minute as the game ended 1-1. Villa will be happy with the away goal as Mings return was immense in them getting a result at Leicester. Leicester face a tough away trip in the 2nd leg as Rodgers look to gain some silverware this season.
