Midweek Football Preview

Finish the season as soon as possible.

Bundesliga MW 28

Bayern Munich vs.  Dortmund

The biggest match of this gameweek comes to us on Tuesday night as 2nd placed Dortmund travel to 1st placed Bayern. A win for the home team would open up a 7 point lead while a win for the away team would reduce the lead to 1 point. It is a massive fixture with a lot at stake for both clubs. The teams have won both their games since the return of football and will be raring to go. The fans might be missing but this will be a feisty affair.

Werder Bremen vs. Monchengladbach

5th placed Monchengladbach will look to return to winning ways as they visit 17th placed Werder Bremen. Werder will look reduce their gap from safety to only 3 points. Monchengladbach should win but the home team could make it difficult.

Frankfurt vs. Freiburg

14th placed Frankfurt take on 7th placed Freiburg as the away team looks to break into the top 6 by ending the day with a win. Frankfurt are a shadow of the team they were last season and this should be easy pickings for the away team.

Leverkusen vs. Wolfsburg

4th placed Leverkusen take on 6th placed Wolfsburg in another big game for the home team. Leverkusen have the chance to go 3rd with a win and maintain their push for a Champions League place while Wolfsburg can move within 10 points of 5th with a win. Leverkusen should get the three points but it could be a nervy game for both teams.

RB Leipzig vs. Hertha Berlin

3rd placed Leipzig can go 2nd if they beat 11th placed Hertha Berlin who are in decent form themselves since football returned. Hertha can break into the top 10 with a win and maybe push for Europe this season but 3 points are a must. Another interesting game although Leipzig should take the three points.

Augsburg vs. Paderborn

12th placed Augsburg take on bottom of the table Paderborn for what should be a routine win for the home team. Augsburg sit 12th and at the cusp of the top 10 but they need to put a good patch of form together.

Union Berlin vs. Mainz

13th placed Union take on 15th placed Mainz with the away side staring at dropping into the relegation zone. Union have nothing to lose and a top 10 finish would be a big achievement for the home team.

Hoffenheim vs. Koln

9th placed Hoffenheim take on 10th placed Koln with both teams looking to climb further up the table. The teams though have not been great since returning to the pitch though and this should be a game which finally gives either team a win. Hoffenheim might slightly edge it due to quality.

Dusseldorf vs. Schalke

Dusseldorf sit 16th and can climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference if they beat 8th placed Schalke who are still in a fight for the Europa League. Schalke have faced two heavy defeats in recent weeks and really need to win this game to avoid being dragged into the race for top 10 rather than a race for Europe. Dusseldorf can win but Schalke should be getting the 3 points.
