La Liga back with a bang!

Hoffenheim 0 vs. 2 RB Leipzig

Hoffenheim were given a penalty early in the game but VAR disallowed it, Leipzig then went on to take the lead a few minutes later through Dani Olmo in the 9th minute. Olmo then got his 2nd goal 2 minutes later as Leipzig looked like they would pile on pressure. Hoffenheim grew into the game though and Leipzig had to defend well throughout the game to seal the three points. Hoffenheim remain 7th in the table now 3 points from the top 6 while Leipzig remain 3rd 5 points clear of 4th place.

Dusseldorf 0 vs. 1 Dortmund

Dortmund were expected to steam roll this game but the home team stayed strong and looked like they would seal an unlikely point. Haaland though scored on his return to the team in the 96th minute to give Dortmund 3 points. Dusseldorf remain 16th and 3 points from safety while Dortmund remain 2nd 7 points behind Bayern. 

Koln 1 vs. 2 Union Berlin

Freidrich gave Berlin the lead in the 39th minute while Gentner doubled the lead in the 67th minute for the away team. Koln got a consolation goal through Cordoba in the 93rd minute but it was too late in the game. Koln remain in 12th place while Union remain 14th but now level on points with Koln. 

Wolfsburg 2 vs. 2 Freiburg

Weghorst gave Wolfsburg the lead in the 1st half as he scored the opening goal in the 14th minute and a 2nd in the 27th minute via a penalty. Holer though got one back for Freiburg in the 43rd minute and Sallai equalised for the away team in the 46th minute. Neither team could get the winner though as they shared the spoils. Wolfsburg remain 6th in the table 3 points clear of 7th while Freiburg remain 8th. 

Hertha Berlin 1 vs. 4 Frankfurt

Piatek gave Berlin the lead in the 24th minute as they were playing well but Boyata was sent off right before half time and Frankfurt turned the game in the 2nd half. Dost equalised in the 51st minute while Andre Silva scored in the 62nd minute to give the away team the lead. N’Dicka made it 3 for Frankfurt 2 minutes later and Silva rounded matters off by scoring a 4th in the 86th minute. Hertha dropped down to 11th while Frankfurt move up into 10th. 

Paderborn 1 vs. 5 Werder Bremen

The relegation battle was won by Werder Bremen as Klaassen got the lead for the away team in the 20th minute. Osako made it 2 for Bremen in the 34th minute, while Klaassen made it 3 in the 39th minute. Eggestein made it 4 in the 59th minute while Sabiri got a consolation goal for Paderborn in the 66th minute. Fullkrug grabbed the 5th in the 92nd minute. Paderborn remain bottom of the table and 11 points from safety as relegation is all but certain. Werder Bremen remain 17th but only 3 points from safety. 

Bayern Munich 2 vs. 1 Monchengladbach

Bayern passed their last realistic hurdle as they beat Monchengladbach at home. It was a rotated squad as Zirkzee gave Munich the lead in the 26th minute before Pavard scored an own goal to equalise for Monchengladbach. Goretzka scored the winner in the 86th for the three points. Bayern remain 7 points clear while Monchengladbach are 5th and point from the top four. 

Mainz 0 vs. 1 Augsburg

Niederlechner scored the winner in the 1st minute for Augsburg as Mainz could not post any comeback and the away team held on to the lead. Mainz remain 15th and 3 points clear of the relegation zone while Augsburg are 13th. 

Schalke 1 vs. 1 Leverkusen

Caligiuri gave Schalke the lead in the 51st minute after scoring an own goal and it looked like Schalke were heading for their first win in some time. Schalke though chose to return the favour as Miranda scored an own goal in the 81st minute. Schalke are 9th while Leverkusen are 4th in the table.

Sevilla 2 vs. 0 Real Betis

Sevilla got an important win against Betis as Ocampos got the lead in the 56th minute via a penalty while Fernando made it 2 goals in the 62nd minute. Sevilla remain 3rd in the table 9 points behind Real Madrid while Betis drop down to 13th in the table. 

Granada 2 vs. 1 Getafe

Timor gave Getafe the lead in the 20th minute but Granada posted a comeback late in the game. Dakonam brought the home team back into the game by scoring an own goal in the 70th minute. Fernandez then gave Granada the lead and the 3 points in the 79th minute. Granada remain 9th in the table 5 points from 6th while Getafe remain 5th in the table a point from the top four. 

Valencia 1 vs. 1 Levante

This was a mad game as it looked like both teams were heading for a goalless draw. Marti had been sent off for Levante in the 74th minute. Valencia though got a lead in the 89th minute as Rodrigo scored for the home team. Levante equalised in the 98th minute thanks to Melero as both teams left with a point but in unlikely fashion. Valencia remain 7th while Levante move one place up into 12th. 

Espanyol 2 vs. 0 Alaves

Flores was sent off for Alaves in the 19th minute and it was tough times for the away team after that. Espinosa made it 1-0 for Espanyol right before half time while Lei made it 2-0 right after half time. Espanyol remain 20th in the table but now 3 points from safety while Alaves drop down to 15th. 

Celta Vigo 0 vs. 1 Villarreal

Trigueros scored a late winner in the 92nd minute as Villarreal got a big 3 points against Celta Vigo. Celta remain 17th and now find themselves a point above the relegation zone while Villarreal remain 8th and 5 points from Europe. 

Leganes 1 vs. 2 Valladolid

Unal scored in the 2nd minute while Alcaraz doubled the lead for Valladolid in the 54th minute. Arnaiz scored a penalty in the 84th minute to set up a nervy ending to the game but the away team held out for 3 points. Leganes remain 19th and 3 points from safety while Valladolid move one place into 14th.

Mallorca 0 vs. 4 Barcelona

Vidal began proceedings for Barcelona in the 2nd minute as Braithwaite, Alba and Messi added the other 3 goals during the game to give Barcelona comfortable victory. Mallorca had no reply as they sit 18th in the table a point from safety while Barcelona remain 2 points clear at the top of the table. 

Bilbao 1 vs. 1 Atletico Madrid

Munain gave Bilbao the lead in the 37th minute but Costa equalised for Atletico two minutes later. Neither team could break the other down as the draw means that Atletico miss out on moving into the top four this weekend. Bilbao remain 10th in the table while Atletico remain 6th a point from the top four. 

Real Madrid 3 vs. 1 Eibar

Kroos opened the lead for Real in the 4th minute as Ramos scored in the 30th and Marcelo in the 37th minute. Eibar were posing Real plenty of threat but the home team stayed strong and made the most of their chances. Bigas did get one goal back for Eibar in the 60th minute but it was a poor error on Courtois part. Real remain 2nd 2 points behind Barcelona while Eibar remain 16th.

Real Sociedad 1 vs. 1 Osasuna

Lopez scored a penalty in the 29th minute to give Osasuna the lead but Oyarzabal equalised for the home team in the 61st minute. The points were shared as Sociedad remain 4th but by a point while Osasuna remain 11th in the table. 

Coppa Italia Semi-Final 2nd Legs

Juventus 0 (1) vs. (1) 0 AC Milan

Neither team could break each other down as Juventus ended up reaching the Coppa Italia final on away goals. Sarri heads for his 3rd final this year as he takes on his former team in Napoli for what should be a tasty encounter. 

Napoli 1 (2) vs. (1) 1 Inter Milan

Napoli had won the 1st leg and Inter had to start this game on the front foot which they did. Eriksen gave the away team a lead in the 2nd minute. It looked like Conte had a plan but Napoli stayed strong and Mertens equalised for Napoli in the 41st minute. Inter had no reply as Napoli now head to the final on aggregate where they will face Juventus. Mertens also became Napoli’s all time leading goalscorer.
