Leicester City vs. Chelsea FA Cup Quarter-Final Preview

FA Cup time!

With football back it is time to resume the FA Cup as well as Chelsea travel to Leicester for the quarter-final. Leicester reached this stage after they beat Birmingham City 1-0 with Pereira scoring in the 82nd minute. Leicester City then played one more game before the lockdown in which they beat Villa 4-0. Post lockdown Leicester have drawn both their games 1-1 against Watford and 0-0 against Brighton. Leicester have not hit their stride since the return of football but they have more than a good enough team to put up a fight.

For Chelsea our last action in the FA Cup was a big 2-0 win against Liverpool we then went on to beat Everton 4-0. Post the lockdown we have won both our games 1-2 to Aston Villa and 2-1 to Manchester City. We have our squad back although Tomori and Hudson-Odoi might still be out for this game.

Chelsea Team Preview

Frank will probably rotate the squad in some areas but keep some of the key players on the pitch. Caballero should be in goal for the game with Emerson at right back and Reece James at left back, Zouma, and Christensen should start in the middle. Jorginho will probably start along with Gilmour and Loftus-Cheek. Pulisic and Pedro should start on the wings with Tammy up front. That is a really good lineup and we have plenty of depth on the bench to call upon. Pulisic needs to start with him in such good form.

Leicester Team Preview

Leicester should have Vardy up front as usual with the likes of Barnes, Maddison, Perez and Tielemans causing trouble. This should also be a good chance to gauge Chilwell and see whether we need to spend money on him or just go for Tagliafico. Pereira is missing due to injury but James Justin has looked decent, while Mendy is also back for Leicester.
