Some surprise results!

Premier League MW 2

Everton 5 vs. 2 West Brom

Diangana gave West Brom the lead in the 10th minute as it looked like Everton were back to their normal selfs but Calvert-Lewin equalised in the 31st minute. Rodriguez then made it 2 for Everton in the 45th minute. Pereira equalised for West Brom in the 47th minute but Keane made it 3 for Everton in the 54th minute. Calvert-Lewin then added 2 goals in the 62nd and 66th minute finished the game off and got his first Premier League hattrick. Everton look good as they 2nd in the table while West Brom remain bottom of the table. 

Leeds 4 vs. 3 Fulham

Helder Costa gave Leeds the lead in the 5th minute while Mitrovic equalised for Fulham via a penalty in the 34th minute. Klich then scored a penalty for Leeds int he 41st minute to restore Leeds lead. Bamford made it 3 in the 50th minute and Costa made 4 in the 57th minute. Reid scored in the 62nd minute and Mitrovic scored in the 67th minute to give the game a nervy ending. Leeds manage to win their first game in a usual style as they move to 10th but they will need to improve their defence. Fulham move one place up into 18th as they search for their first win. 

Man United 1 vs. 3 Crystal Palace

Townsend scored in the 7th minute to give Palace a surprise lead as United were caught off guard in their first game. Zaha then scored a penalty in the 74th minute after a combination of VAR decisions and handball by Lindelof as Palace made it 0-2. Van de Beek made it 1-2 in the 80th minute but Zaha made it 3 for Palace 5 minutes later as Palace got another win at Old Trafford. A poor start for United as they sit 15th while Palace sit 5th with 2 wins in 2. 

Arsenal 2 vs. 1 West Ham

Lacazette scored in the 25th minute but West Ham were the better side for much of the game and they equalised right before half time through Antonio. Nketiah grabbed the winner late on in the 85th minute against the run of play as Arsenal drop down to 3rd. West Ham move up to 16th on goal difference and show they have some hope. 

Southampton 2 vs. 5 Tottenham

Ings scored in the 32nd minute to give Southampton the lead as it looked like Tottenham would be heading for another defeat. Son though equalised right before half time to bring Tottenham back into the game. Son then scored 3 more and Kane added another as Tottenham went 1-5 up. Ings scored a penalty before full time but the damage was done. Southampton drop down to 19th having lost the last two games while Tottenham move up to 6th in the table. 

Newcastle 0 vs. 3 Brighton

Newcastle came down from their high of last weekend as Brighton put 3 past them with a brace from Maupay in the first 10 minutes while Connolly scored in the 83rd minute. Bissouma was sent off for Brighton late on as he kicked Jamal Lewis in the face by mistake. Newcastle drop down to 13th while Brighton move up to 8th. 

Leicester 4 vs. 2 Burnley

Wood gave Burnley the lead in the 10th minute but Barnes equalised for Leicester 10 minutes later. Pieters then scored an own goal in the 50 minute to give Leicester the lead and Justin made it 3 for the Foxes in the 61st minute. Dunne got one back for Burnley in the 73rd minute but Praet had the last laugh as he scored Leicester’s 4th in the 79th minute. Leicester go top of the table with 2 out of 2 while Burnley start their season with a defeat and sit 14th. 

Aston Villa 1 vs. 0 Sheffield United

Egan was sent off for Sheffield in the 12th minute as Villa managed the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute via Konsa. Villa start their season with a win as Martinez kept a clean sheet. Villa move up to 9th while Sheffield United remain 17th in the table. 

Wolverhampton 1 vs. 3 Man City

De Bruyne scored a penalty and Foden scored one more in the 1st half as City went 0-2 up in the first 45 minutes. Jimenez got one back for Wolves in the 78th minute but Jesus sealed the win in extra time as City start their season with a win. City move up to 7th while Wolves drop down to 11th. 

La Liga MW 2

Celta Vigo beat Valencia 2-1, Villarreal beat Eibar 2-1, Getafe beat Osasuna 1-0, and Real Madrid started their season with a 0-0 draw against Sociedad. Granada, Betis, Villarreal and Celta Vigo make up the top four for La Liga. Real Madrid sit 10th while Atletico, Barcelona, and Sevilla are yet to play. 

Bundesliga MW 1

Bayern kicked off the Bundesliga season with an 8-0 thrashing of Schalke as the Champion of Europe ran riot with rabona assists and hattricks. Dortmund beat Monchengladbach 3-0, Leipzig beat Mainz 3-1, and Leverkusen drew with Wolfsburg 0-0. Bayern, Hertha, Dortmund, and Augsburg make up the top four whilt Leipzig are 5th. Schalke and Monchengladbach will bounce back but the rest start the season well in Germany. 

Serie MW 1

Roma drew with Verona 0-0, Napoli beat Parma 0-2, Juventus beat Sampdoria 3-0, and Milan beat Bologna 2-0. Genoa, Juventus, Milan and Napoli make up the top four in Italy for the opening weekend while Atalanta, Inter, and Lazio are yet to start their season. 

Ligue MW 4

Lyon drew with Nimes 0-0, Rennes beat Monaco 2-1, PSG beat Nice 0-3, St.Etienne drew with Nantes 2-2, and Marseille drew with Lille 1-1. St.Etienne, Rennes, Montpellier and Lens make up the top four while Lille sit 5th, Monaco sit 6th, Marseille 7th and PSG 8th. Lyon are 12 having not one any of their last 3 games. Interesting start to Ligue 1 but the usual teams are gaining pace after a poor start.
