Weekend Football Preview

Big games at the weekend!

Premier League MW 4

Everton vs. Brighton

3rd placed Everton are looking to make 4 out of 4 going into the international break as they take on Brighton who sit 12th having lost last weekend in painful ways to United. Brighton are an exciting team but Everton are the club in form and should be able to get another win to start the season.

Leeds vs. Man City

7th placed Leeds are in good form as they take on 13th placed Man City who lost in dismal ways to Leicester last weekend. This should be a very entertaining game especially with Pep taking on his master in Bielsa. I expect goals in this game and City will want to end this period with 3 points as well. An exciting game that can go either way.

Newcastle vs. Burnley

Newcastle sit 10th and were probably very fortunate to leave London with a point last weekend while Burnley sit 18th having lost 2 in 2. Burnley have started the season slowly and Newcastle are looking to return to winning ways. This could be a tough game for both teams but Newcastle probably have more fire power to win this game.

Leicester vs. West Ham

Leicester sit top of the table and are looking to make it 4 in 4 as they take on West Ham who sit 11th having finally won a game last weekend and a comfortable one against Wolves. West Ham do look like they have turned a corner but Leicester have been brilliant and will be flying high having thrashed City. An interesting game but Leicester should win.

Southampton vs. West Brom

Southampton sit 15th as they finally won a game last weekend and they take on West Brom who sit 17th and finally got a point as they drew with Chelsea. West Brom played well against Chelsea for 45 minutes but Southampton should be winning this game given what they have done this year. West Brom could get a point but Southampton should be getting 3.

Arsenal vs. Sheffield United

Arsenal ended their winning streak last weekend as they lost to Liverpool and now sit 5th in the table. Sheffield United sit 19th having lost all 3 games and are the only team who haven’t scored yet in the league as they travel to London searching for their first points. If this were last season Sheffield United would be favoured to challenge Arsenal but the start of this season has been poor for them. Arsenal should win this game but still look suspect at times and so Sheffield could have a chance.

Wolverhampton vs. Fulham

Wolves have lost their last 2 games as they sit 16th and take on Fulham who sit bottom of the table having lost all three. Fulham are struggling already and this should be an easy win for Wolves who would like to get 3 points before the break.

Man United vs. Tottenham

United sit 14th in the table having won last weekend in the luckiest of ways as they take on Tottenham who sit 8th and are looking to get a win after a draw last weekend in the unluckiest of ways. On form Tottenham are probably the better side but they have been stretch having played twice in the last 5 days and having started a strong team against Haifa in the Europa League. United have been a shambles in the transfer window and on the pitch they have been far from convincing as Ole works with what he’s got. An interesting game as Jose looks to finally get one over Ole and Tottenham should win this game.

Aston Villa vs. Liverpool

Aston Villa sit 4th having won 2 out of 2 till now but they take on Liverpool who sit 2nd and have won 3 out of 3. Villa have started the season well and have a better squad this season but Liverpool are the Champions and bar any shocks or surprises they should win this game.

La Liga MW 5

Atletico take on Villarreal, Valencia travel to Betis, Real Madrid travel to Levante, and Barcelona take on Sevilla in the toughest game this weekend. Barcelona and Sevilla have both got two wins to start the season but one teams record should end while the rest try to either climb the table or maintain their place at the top.

Serie MW 3

Roma travel to Udinese, Atalanta entertain Cagliari, Lazio welcome Inter, Milan welcome Spezia, and Juventus play Napoli. Some very exciting games in Italy this weekend as some teams might lose their winning starts to the season while others will look to climb the table.

Bundesliga MW 3

Leverkusen travel to Stuttgart, Monchengladbach travel to Koln, Dortmund entertain Freiburg, Leipzig entertain Schalke, and Bayern welcome Hertha Berlin. Bayern and Dortmund are looking to return to winning ways this weekend having lost last weekend while the rest are looking to maintain their positions at the top.

Ligue MW 6

Paris welcome Angers, St.Etienne travel to Lens, Lille travel to Strasbourg, Monaco travel to Brest, and Lyon take on Marseille in the game of the weekend. PSG are climbing up the table after a shaky start while the rest look to stay at the top.
