Thank god the international break is over!
Premier League MW 5
Everton vs. Liverpool
League football and Super Saturday starts with a mouthwatering Merseyside derby as Everton welcome Liverpool. Everton are the only team to have a perfect start to the season having won 4 of their 4 games. Liverpool sit 5th 3 points behind them having been thrashed by Villa in the last week and so they will want to set the record straight. After quite some time this Merseyside Derby has something at stake and so it should be a thrilling game to watch. The result could go either way but it would be great to see Everton win.
Man City vs. Arsenal
14th placed Man City take on 4th placed Arsenal with Pep under some pressure to push City back up the table. It’s been a slow start for Manchester as a whole while Arsenal under Arteta have managed to win 3 games and lost 1 playing their defensive style of football although they do now have Thomas Partey in their team. A very interesting game and Pep will want to get one over his protege for the 1st time.
Newcastle vs. Man United
9th placed Newcastle take on 16th placed Manchester United with Newcastle having had a decent start to the season. United are struggling at all areas of the club and they have played some poor football to boot having been thrashed by Tottenham in the last game. United did bring Cavani, Pallestri, and Telles in but Telles will probably be the only new signing available for this game. Newcastle did beat United last season as well and they can get one more against a side low on confidence.
Sheffield United vs. Fulham
19th vs. 20th as the two teams that have lost all 4 of their games take on each other. Sheffield have been a surprise as Wilder has struggled to continue his good form from last season while Fulham have struggled as expected although they did bring in some signings on deadline day like Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. It should be a tough game between both teams who are desperate for a win. The result could go either way.
Crystal Palace vs. Brighton
12th vs. 15th as Palace take on Brighton in a derby of their own kind. Brighton are unlucky to have only 1 win from their first 4 games especially having played so well in most of those games while Palace also had a brilliant start but lost to Chelsea in poor fashion in the last game. The two teams have quality and this will be a pretty close game that can go either way.
Tottenham vs. West Ham
London Derby time as 6th placed Tottenham take on 10th placed West Ham with both teams in good form. Tottenham are coming fresh off thrashing Manchester United and will be buoyed by the fact that Bale could get his first few minutes since rejoining. West Ham started the season poorly but picked up 2 good wins in succession and are also close to signing Benrahma from Brentford although that is yet to be seen. A tough derby but Tottenham should win based on the form they are in.
Leicester vs. Aston Villa
3rd placed Leicester lost 2 weeks ago as they take on 2nd placed Villa who have won all three of their games and are fresh off of thrashing Liverpool. This should be an extremely entertaining game and Villa are more than capable of continuing their good start to the season while Leicester will want to bounce back.
West Brom vs. Burnley
17th placed West Brom take on 18th placed Burnley with both teams seeking their first wins in the league this season. Burnley have played a game less but lost all three while West Brom have a point to their name. An evenly matched game between two evenly matched sides and it is hard to predict the result although Burnley have the Premier League pedigree.
Leeds vs. Wolverhampton
8th placed Leeds take on 13th placed Wolves as the two overachievers of past and present seasons go head to head. Leeds have had a positive start to the season while Wolves have lost 2 and won 2. Leeds style of football is a polar opposite to Wolves style of football and so this should be an interesting game with two good managers going head to head. It is yet to be seen which Wolves players will feature but Leeds should have a full squad.
La Liga MW 6
Sevilla travel to Granada, Atletico travel to Celta Vigo, Real Madrid welcome Cadiz, Barcelona travel to Getafe, and Valencia take on Villarreal. Real Madrid lead La Liga after a draw to start their season while Barcelona and Sevilla had positive starts until their draws before the International break. Atletico are struggling having drawn their last two games but have also played two games less. These should be some tricky fixtures but in the case of Real Madrid it should be a straight forward 3 points.
Serie A MW 4
Napoli take on Atalanta, Lazio travel to Sampdoria, Inter play Milan, Juventus travel to Crotone, and Roma entertain Benevento. Some mouthwatering clashed in Italy this weekend with Atalanta traveling to Napoli while a Milan derby should be an exciting game to watch. Juventus have a straightforward trip on paper while Roma have a tricky fixture against Benevento.
Bundesliga MW 4
Leverkusen travel to Mainz, Dortmund travel to Hoffenheim, Leipzig travel to Augsburg, Bayern travel to Arminia, Monchengladbach entertain Wolfsburg, and Schalke entertain Union Berlin. Some tricky away fixtures for the big teams in Germany while Schalke and Monchengladbach have decent home ties. It’s all very close at the top of the Bundesliga although Dortmund and Bayern have already lost a game each and wont want to drop anymore points.
Ligue 1 MW 7
Rennes travel to Dijon, PSG travel to Nimes, Marseille entertain Bordeaux, Lyon travel to Strasbourg, Monaco entertain Montpellier, and Lille entertain Lens. PSG are still playing catchup after a poor start but are only 2 points from the top as the rest look to maintain their gap to the serial winners.
