Arsenal end their hoodoo!

Premier League MW 7

Wolverhampton 2 vs. 0 Crystal Palace

Ait-Nouri and Podence scored in the 1st half to give Wolves a comfortable lead against Palace. The Eagles had no reply and had Milivojevic sent off for them in the 86th minute. Wolves climb up to 6th with the win while Palace drop down to 13th with the loss. 

Sheffield United 0 vs. 1 Man City

Walker scored in the 28th minute and it was enough for City as they held on against Sheffield United to take 3 points. City move into the top 10 in 10th with the win while Sheffield United are 19th and still seeking their first win. 

Liverpool 2 vs. 1 West Ham

Fornals scored in the 10th minute to give West Ham the lead against Liverpool. Salah scored a penalty in the 42nd minute to equalise for Liverpool going into the 2nd half. The game looked like it would end in a draw though but Jota got the winner in the 85th minute after he had a goal disallowed a few minutes earlier. Liverpool move into 1st with the win while West Ham drop down to 14th. 

Aston Villa 3 vs. 4 Southampton

Vestergaard scored in the 20th minute to give Southampton the lead and Ward-Prowse scored two free kicks in the 1st half to make it 0-3 for the Saints at half time. Ings scored in the 58th minute to make it 0-4 but Mings got one back for Villa in the 62nd minute. It looked like the game was over but Watkins and Grealish got goals in extra time to give the game a nervy ending. Villa drop down to 8th as their bubble bursts while Southampton move into 5th with the win. 

Newcastle 2 vs. 1 Everton

Wilson scored a penalty in the 56th minute to give Newcastle the lead while he made it 2 in the 84th minute. Calvert-Lewin got one back for Everton in extra time but it was too little too late. Newcastle climb up to 11th with the win while Everton drop down to 4th having lost their last 2. 

Man United 0 vs. 1 Arsenal

Aubemyang got a penalty in the 69th minute and scored it as Arsenal got their first win at Old Trafford in 14 years and also managed their first away win against the top 6 sides in many years as well. United were dismally poor while Arsenal dominated the 1st half and ground out a win in the 2nd. United remain 15th in the table while Arsenal climb into 9th with the win. Pressure piles on Ole while Arteta grabs a lifeline. 

Tottenham 2 vs. 1 Brighton

Kane scored a penalty in the 13th minute to give Tottenham the lead. Lamptey got one back for Brighton in the 56th minute but Bale came off the bench to score the winner in the 73rd minute as Tottenham took 3 points. There were doubts about Kane’s penalty as it looked like he fouled Lallana but VAR made its decision. Tottenham move into 3rd while Brighton remain 16th. 

Fulham 2 vs. 0 West Brom

Reid and Aina scored in the 1st half to give Fulham the lead and they held on for their first win and clean sheet of the season against fellow promoted side West Brom. Fulham climb out of the relegation zone and into 17th while West Brom drop into 18th. 

Leeds 1 vs. 4 Leicester

Barnes and Tielemans scored in the 1st half to give Leicester the lead. Dallas got one back for Leeds in the 48th minute but Vardy scored a 3rd for Leicester in the 76th minute and Tielemans scored a penalty in extra time to get Leicester a comfortable win against Leeds. Leeds drop down to 12th while Leicester move into 2nd a point behind Liverpool. 

La Liga MW 8

Real Madrid beat Huesca 4-1, Bilbao beat Sevilla 2-1, Atletico beat Osasuna 1-3, Barcelona drew with Alaves 1-1, and Valencia drew with Getafe 2-2. Sociedad, Real Madrid, Villarreal, and Atletico make up the top four. Barcelona and Valencia sit 12th and 13th while Sevilla sit 16th. Pressure builds on Barcelona domestically while Real Madrid return to winning ways. 

Serie MW 6

Atalanta beat Crotone 1-2, Inter drew with Parma 2-2, Milan beat Udinese 1-2, Juventus beat Spezia 1-4, Lazio beat Torino 3-4, Sassuolo beat Napoli 0-2, and Roma beat Fiorentina 2-0. Milan, Sassuolo, Juventus, and Atalanta make up the top four, while Napoli and Inter sit 5th and 6th. Roma sit 8th and Lazio sit 10th. Milan still flying high in Serie A as the rest play catch up. 

Bundesliga MW 6

Schalke and Stuttgart drew 1-1, Dortmund beat Arminia 0-2, Bayern beat Koln 1-2, Monchengladbach beat Leipzig 1-0, and Leverkusen beat Freiburg 2-4. Bayern and Dortmund sit 1st and 2nd level on points as they move into familiar territory. Leipzig drop down into 3rd while Leverkusen move into 4th. Monchengladbach sit 5th while Schalke are in the relegation zone. A similar top 5 to last season as the Bundesliga evens itself out. 

Ligue MW 9

Rennes beat Brest 2-1, PSG beat Nantes 0-3, Monaco beat Bordeaux 4-0, and Lille and Lyon drew 1-1. PSG go 2 points clear at the top as they begin to build their gap while Lille, Rennes, and Nice make up the top four. Marseille sit 5th while Lyon sit 6th and Monaco sit 8th. PSG keep rolling on as the rest play catch up.
