Top 5 takes shape!

Premier League MW 11

Burnley 1 vs. 1 Everton

Robbie Brady gave Burnley the lead in the 3rd minute but Calvert-Lewin equalised for Everton before half time. Neither team could break the other down in the 2nd half and they shared the points. Burnley move up to 18th with a point while Everton drop down to 9th. 

Man City 2 vs. 0 Fulham

Sterling scored in the 5th minute while De Bruyne scored a penalty in the 26th minute and it looked like Fulham were in for a thrashing but the Londoners limited City to 2. City climb up to 7th in the table while Fulham remain 17th in the table. 

West Ham 1 vs. 3 Man United

A game of two halves and one player, as West Ham scored in the 38th minute via Soucek and should have scored a couple more in a half that the Hammers dominated United. United were abysmal in the 1st half but Fernandes came on in the 2nd half and they looked a different team. Pogba, Greenwood, and Rashford all scored in the final 20 minutes to complete a comeback for United and a brilliant 2nd half display thanks to one player. West Ham drop down to 8th while United climb up to 6th in the table. 

West Brom 1 vs. 5 Crystal Palace

Furlong scored an own goal in the 8th minute to give Palace the lead. Gallagher equalised for West Brom in the 30th minute but Pereira was sent off for West Brom in the 34th minute and the game went downhill from there. Zaha and Benteke both scored 2 goals each in the 2nd half to complete Palace’s biggest away win in the Premier League. West Brom sit 19th while Palace climb up to 11th. 

Sheffield United 1 vs. 2 Leicester

Perez scored in the 24th minute to give Leicester the lead but McBurnie equalised two minutes later for the Blades. Leicester had to fight hard for the win though but got there in the end when Vardy scored the winner in the 90th minute. Sheffield United remain winless and bottom of the table while Leicester remain 4th in the table. 

Tottenham 2 vs. 0 Arsenal

North London Derby and a classic Mourinho game as Kane assisted Son for the 1st goal while Son assisted Kane for the 2nd goal as Tottenham went 2-0 up in the 1st half and never looked back. Arsenal dominated the 2nd half possession wise and crosses wise but Tottenham were always comfortable. Tottenham remain top of the table on goal difference while Arsenal drop down to 15th. 

Liverpool 4 vs. 0 Wolverhampton

Salah scored in the 24th minute to give Liverpool the lead. Wolves had some good chances but Liverpool held on until half time and then shifted gears in the 2nd half. Wijnaldum, Matip and a Semedo own goal in the 2nd half completed a comfortable win for Liverpool. Liverpool remain 2nd in the table on goal difference while Wolves drop down to 10th. 

Brighton 1 vs. 2 Southampton

Gross gave Brighton the lead in the 26th minute via a penalty but Vestergaard equalised for Southampton right before half time. Ings then scored the winner via a penalty in the 81st minute. Brighton remain 16th while Southampton climb up to 5th in the table. 

La Liga MW 12

Real Madrid beat Sevilla 0-1, Atletico beat Valladolid 2-0, Barcelona lost to Cadiz 2-1, Real Sociedad drew to Alaves 0-0, and Valencia drew with Eibar 0-0. Atletico remain 1 point clear at the top of the table while Real Sociedad, Villarreal, and Real Madrid make up the top four. Sevilla sit 6th while Barcelona drop down to 9th and Valencia are 13th. Koeman has his work cut out defensively and needs to pick up or he might get sacked regardless of their Champions League form. 

Serie MW 10

Lazio beat Spezia 1-2, Juventus beat Torino 2-1, Inter beat Bologna 3-1, Roma drew with Sassuolo 0-0, Napoli beat Crotone 0-4, and Milan beat Sampdoria 1-2. Milan remain 5 points clear at the top of the table with Inter, Napoli, and Juventus make up the top four. Roma and Lazio sit 6th and 7th while Atalanta sit 9th. A good week for most teams in Italy with Roma dropping points and Atalanta not playing their game. Milan continue their renaissance. 

Bundesliga MW 10

Monchengladbach drew to Freiburg 2-2, Dortmund drew with Frankfurt 1-1, Bayern drew with Leipzig 3-3, and Leverkusen beat Schalke 0-3. A weekend of draws in Germany this weekend while Leverkusen benefit the most. Bayern remain a point clear at the top fo the table while Leverkusen, Leipzig, and Dortmund make up the top four. Monchengladbach sit 7th in the table. Bayern going through their normal form during the 1st half of the season but the other teams clearly seem to be going through something as well. 

Ligue MW 13

Marseille beat Nimes 0-2, Lens beat Rennes 0-2, PSG beat Montpellier 1-3, Lille beat Monaco 2-1, and Lyon beat Metz 1-3. PSG go 2 points clear at the top of the table while Lille, Lyon, and Marseille make up the top four. Monaco sit 5th in the table. PSG still the team to beat in France as the other teams play catch up.
