Weekend Football Preview

Non stop football!

Premier League MW 12

Leeds vs. West Ham

14th placed Leeds welcome 8th placed West Ham on Friday night with both teams looking to bounce back from defeats last weekend. Leeds have only managed 1 win in their last 5 while West Ham are in better form and were quite good against United. A win for Leeds would take them up to 11th while a win for West Ham would take them up to 5th. Bielsa and Moyes play different styles off football and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Wolverhampton vs. Aston Villa

10th placed Wolves were thrashed by Liverpool as they take on 12th placed Villa who have returned to similar territory on the table after a lightning start. A win for either team would take them into the top half of the table and Villa need a win having lost 4 of their last 5. An interesting game with Wolves the team in better form.

Newcastle vs. West Brom

13th placed Newcastle take on 19th placed West Brom with some saying Bilic is under pressure to win although it would be foolish to sack him so soon. Newcastle managed a win last weekend and would like to continue that momentum although West Brom are quite decent and the red card last weekend wasn’t great for them. A close game most likely.

Man United vs. Man City

The game of the weekend as United who sit 6th in the table having won their last 4 games take on City who sit 7th in the table a point behind United. United are in confusing form having been unconvincing but consistent in the league while being having been knocked out of the Champions League and sent back to the Europa in Europe. The pressure is on Ole once again and if the past is anything to go by then United might end up winning this and Ole might get another life line. City though have ground to cover and Pep will want the 3 points. An interesting game as always.

Southampton vs. Sheffield United

Southampton sit 5th in the table and are in great form as they take on bottom of the table Sheffield United who are still seeking their first win of the season. Pressure is piling on Wilder and co but Southampton doesn’t look like the team they will get a win against. This should be 3 points for the Saints.

Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham

London derby time as 11th placed Palace travel to league leaders Tottenham after having won big last weekend. Tottenham themselves saw off Arsenal last weekend and are in great form. This could be an interesting game but it should be 3 points for Spurs.

Fulham vs. Liverpool

17th placed Fulham entertain 2nd placed Liverpool in a game that Klopp’s team should be winning. Fulham did beat Leicester and while Liverpool have injuries to their team they should face no massive issues against Fulham.

Arsenal vs. Burnley

Arsenal have been great in Europe but find themselves 15th in the league as they take on Burnley who sit 18th in the league. Arsenal will have to come out and play against Burnley and Dyche will feel that they have a chance at getting a point or more against Arteta’s team.

Leicester vs. Brighton

4th placed Leicester take on 16th placed Brighton who have 1 win in their last 5. Leicester will want to keep pace with the top of the table while Brighton will look to gain some points. Leicester should win this game.

La Liga MW 13

Valencia take on Bilbao, Sevilla travel to Getafe, Real Madrid welcome Atletico Madrid in a derby, Real Sociedad take on Eibar, Barcelona entertain Levante. The big game of the weekend is the Madrid Derby while the rest will hope to gain some ground over those two depending on the result. Barcelona themselves need to start winning.

Serie MW 11

Lazio welcome Verona, Inter travel to Cagliari, Napoli welcome Sampdoria, Atalanta entertain Fiorentina, Roma travel to Bologna, Juventus travel to Genoa, and Milan welcome Parma. Inter having been knocked out of Europe will now focus on the league with all the teams mentioned still involved in Europe in some capacity. It should be a weekend of wins in Italy.

Bundesliga MW 11

Dortmund entertain Stuttgart, Leipzig welcome Werder Bremen, Monchengladbach take on Hertha Berlin, Bayern travel to play Union Berlin, Schalke travel to Augsburg, and Leverkusen take on Hoffenheim. Similar to Italy, Germany should see a majority of wins this weekend as the teams behind Bayern look to gain ground on them and hope the champions drop points.

Ligue MW 14

Marseille take on Monaco, Lille take on Bordeaux, and PSG welcome Lyon. Some massive games in Ligue 1 this weekend as the top teams involved take on each other. Lille could be big winners if results go their way while PSG will look to maintain their small gap at the top.
