Movement in the table!

Premier League MW 13

Man City 1 vs. 1 West Brom

Gundogan scored in the 30th minute to give City the lead after the home side struggled to break West Brom. Dias scored an own goal though in the 43rd minute to equalise for West Brom. West Brom were able to hold on for the win as they defended well and kept City at bay. City remain 9th with two successive draws while West Brom remain 19th two points form safety. Another consequence of this game was that Slaven Bilic became the first manager to be sacked this season with Sam Allardyce replacing him. 

Arsenal 1 vs. 1 Southampton

Walcott scored in the 18th minute against his former club as it looked like Arsenal would be heading for another defeat. Aubameyang though equalised for Arsenal in the 52nd minute as Arsenal looked to go for the win. That momentum was cut off when Gabriel was sent off in the 62nd minute for a 2nd yellow card. Arsenal were then happy to be able to manage the point against Southampton. Arsenal remain 15th and are able to stop their run of losses while Southampton climb up to 3rd in the table. 

Leeds 5 vs. 2 Newcastle

Hendrick gave Newcastle the lead in the 26th minute to kick matters off by Bamford equalised for Leeds in the 35th minute. Rodrigo then put Leeds ahead with a goal in the 61st minute but Clark equalised for Newcastle 4 minutes later. Newcastle then decided to throw the game away as Dallas, Alioski, and Harrison all scored to put the game to bed for Leeds. Leeds move up to 13th in the table while Newcastle drop down to 14th in the table with the heavy loss. 

Leicester 0 vs. 2 Everton

Richarlison scored in the 1st half while Holgate scored in the 2nd as Everton continued their good run of form in recent weeks. Leicester drop down to 4th with the defeat while Everton jump up to 5th in the table. 

Fulham 0 vs. 0 Brighton

A stalemate between the two sides as neither could take advantage of the other. Fulham remain 18th in the table while Brighton remain 16th in the table. 

Liverpool 2 vs. 1 Tottenham

Salah scored in the 26th minute to give Liverpool the lead in this massive game but Son equalised for Spurs in the 33rd minute. Tottenham had a game plan in classic Mourinho fashion and had two great chances in the 2nd half but Bergwijn and Kane were found wanting in their finishing. Liverpool didn’t need a warning though and Firmino scored in the 90th minute to steal the 3 points for Liverpool. Liverpool go 3 points clear at the top of the table while Spurs remain 2nd a point above 3rd. 

West Ham 1 vs. 1 Crystal Palace

Benteke scored in the 34th minute to give Palace the lead while Haller equalised for West Ham in the 55th minute via a brilliant bicycle kick. Benteke was also sent off for Palace in the 70th minute. Neither team could find the winner in this London derby. West Ham drop down to 8th with the point while Palace drop down to 12th with the point. 

Aston Villa 0 vs. 0 Burnley

Neither team could break the other down in yet another draw this weekend and a stalemate. Villa drop down to 11th while Burnley remain 17th a point clear of the relegation zone and a point behind Brighton. 

Sheffield United 2 vs. 3 Man United

McGoldrick scored in the 5th minute after a mistake from Henderson to give Sheffield United the lead. The Blades defence was poor though and United were able to ping balls over the top with their forwards making runs. After several offsides Rashford was able to finally latch on to a pass and equalise in the 26th minute. Martial then did the same in the 33rd minute. Rashford made it 3 in the 51st minute as United sat comfortable. McGoldrick managed to get one back in the 87th minute but United held on. United climb up to 6th in the table with the win while Sheffield United remain bottom of the table and winless now 9 points from safety. 

La Liga (Games in hand)

Real Madrid beat Bilbao 3-1 while Barcelona beat Sociedad 2-1 with the teams picking up big wins in their road to recovery. Real Madrid remain 3rd but go level on points with Atletico and Sociedad with Madrid still having a game in hand although Atletico have 3 games in hand. Barcelona’s win takes them up to 6th in the table 6 points from the top. 

Serie MW 12

Lazio drew with Benevento 1-1, Juventus drew with Atalanta 1-1, Milan drew with Genoa 2-2, Inter beat Napoli 1-0, and Roma beat Torino 3-1. Inter and Roma the big winners during the week with Inter remaining 2nd but going within a point of Milan. Roma climb up to 4th and level on points with Juventus who sit 3rd. Napoli are 5th in the table with Atalanta and Lazio 8th and 9th respectively. 

Bundesliga MW 12

Monchengladbach drew with Frankfurt 3-3, Dortmund beat Werder Bremen 1-2, Leipzig beat Hoffenheim 0-1, Bayern beat Wolfsburg 2-1, and Leverkusen beat Koln 0-4. Leverkusen remain top of the table by a point while Bayern, Leipzig and Dortmund make up the top four although Dortmund are 6 points behind Leverkusen. Monchengladbach sit 8th in the table, 10 points from the top. 

Ligue MW 15

Lille beat Dijon 0-2, PSG beat Lorient 2-0, Lyon drew with Brest 2-2, Lens beat Monaco 0-3, while Rennes beat Marseille 2-1. Lyon, Monaco, and Marseille lose ground while Lille remain top of the league by a point. PSG, Lyon and Marseille make up the top four. Rennes are 6th while Monaco are 8th in the table.
