Weekend Football Preview

Big weekend of tricky games!

Premier League MW 14

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool

12th placed Palace take on leaders Liverpool in the annual Crystanbul game. One hopes every season that Liverpool might slip up again but those days are gone and the win against Spurs should only boost Morale in Klopp’s squad. This should be an interesting game but Liverpool will probably win.

Southampton vs. Man City

Tricky game no 2 comes to us from Southampton as they are visited by City. Southampton sit 3rd in the table while City are 9th in a reversal of fortunes. A win for City would take them to within a point of Southampton while a win for Southampton would open up a 7 point gap. It is a big game and Southampton are in good form while City look to be struggling. This will be one two watch.

Everton vs. Arsenal

5th placed Everton entertain 15th placed Arsenal for what is a big game for both teams. Everton are looking to continue their momentum and Arsenal to their run of wins while Arsenal are seeking their first win in more than 5 game weeks. Arsenal are as of now in a relegation fight but with fans in the stadium at Everton this should be a tricky game for Arteta and Everton could win.

Newcastle vs. Fulham

14th placed Newcastle take on 18th placed Fulham in with both teams looking for wins. Fulham have looked better in recent weeks but haven’t won recently and would probably like to add 3 points to their name. Newcastle have been inconsistent and a win would take them further from the bottom of the table.

Brighton vs. Sheffield United

16th placed Brighton take on bottom of the table Sheffield United with the Blades still seeking their first win of the season. United played well against Man United during the week but their defence was quiet poor and Brighton could have some fun with the backline. It should be an interesting game although Sheffield United are running out of teams to beat.

Tottenham vs. Leicester

Tricky game no 3 comes to us from London as Leicester visit Tottenham with both teams looking to bounce back from losses. Tottenham sit 2nd while Leicester sit 4th with a point separating the two sides. It should be a fun game although Tottenham will most likely win. A draw would be a good as a Chelsea fan.

Man United vs. Leeds

6th placed United take on 13th placed Leeds as an old rivalry is reignited. United are on a great run of form in recent weeks and could go 2nd with a win while Leeds are coming off of a big win against Newcastle. This should be a fun game to watch and Leeds will be a handful for United although United will know that Leeds’s open style of play could be great for their counter attacking long ball football.

West Brom vs. Aston Villa

19th placed West Brom take on 11th placed Villa with both teams having drawn recently. West Brom are under new management with Sam Allardyce having replaced Bilic and so they will be hoping for a new manager bounce. Villa are looking to return to winning ways and head back up the table.

Burnley vs. Wolverhampton

17th placed Burnley take on 10th placed Wolves. With Burnley having returned to a more defensively solid team in recent weeks. Wolves enjoyed a win against Chelsea during the week although their counter attacks wont be effective against Burnley. It should be a close game.

La Liga MW 14

Atletico entertain Elche, Barcelona welcome Valencia, Real Sociedad travel to Levante, Sevilla welcome Valladolid, and Real Madrid travel to Eibar. Should be straight forward games for the teams at the top this weekend with no major upsets in sight. The top 3 is pretty close with Barcelona playing catchup at the moment.

Serie MW 13

Juventus travel to Parma, Milan travel to Sassuolo, Inter entertain Spezia, Atalanta take on Roma, while Lazio take on Napoli. A chance for Inter this weekend as they have the easiest game on paper with the rest facing tricky away fixtures or tough teams. Milan will be looking to return to winning ways while the rest will also want to stay in touch of the top.

Bundesliga MW 13

Dortmund travel to Union Berlin, Monchengladbach entertain Hoffenheim, Leipzig travel to Koln, and Leverkusen entertain Bayern. The big game is the final game with both teams at the top of the table and separated by a point. A win for Leverkusen takes them 4 points clear of Bayern while a loss would mean Bayern go back on top. An exciting game to watch with Leverkusen free scoring at the moment.

Ligue MW 16

Marseille take on Reims, Lyon travel to Nice, Monaco travel to Dijon, Lorient play Rennes, and Lille entertain PSG in a top 2 clash as well. Lille similar to Leverkusen can go 4 points clear of PSG with a win while PSG will be looking to return to the top of the table. An interesting weekend ahead.
