Weekend Football Preview

BOXING DAY!!!

Premier League MW 15

Leicester vs. Man United

2nd vs. 3rd with one game separating the two teams in the table. Leicester have won 3 of their last 5 games and beat Tottenham while United have been on a fine run of form that stretches back more than 5 games ago. Leicester did not play during the week and they should be raring to go for the game while United had a tough game against Everton and only managed to win during the end. An entertaining game either way.

Aston Villa vs. Crystal Palace

9th placed Villa take on 13th placed Palace with Palace having won only 1 of their last 5 games. Villa have been picking up form over the last few games and should be ready to fight for 3 points in this game. 4 points separate the two teams and so its a big advantage if either team wins.

Fulham vs. Southampton

18th palced Fulham take on 7th placed Southampton who haven’t won in two games. Fulham haven’t lost in 3 games but they have drawn all those 3 games and so both teams are trying to pick up a win. Fulham are trying to get out the relegation zone while Southampton want to return to the top 5.

Man City vs. Newcastle

8th placed Man City take on 12th placed Newcastle with the Magpies struggling for form at the moment. Man City have been trying to work towards the top of the table and have faltered in the league recently but this should be a straight forward win.

Sheffield United vs. Everton

20th placed Sheffield United still winless take on 4th placed Everton who are in good form in the league. Everton have won their last 3 against big opposition and so Sheffield United should not be a problem but unlike previous opponents Sheffield United will be defensive. An interesting game but Everton should win.

Leeds vs. Burnley

14th placed Leeds take on 16th placed Burnley with only 4 points separating the two teams. Leeds have played some exciting football but it has cost them and it finds them close to the relegation zone at the moment. Burnley have been resurgent in recent weeks and so this should make for an interesting and close game between two very different philosophies.

West Ham vs. Brighton

10th placed West Ham take on 17th placed Brighton with the Seagulls 2 points above the relegation zone and not having any games in a while. West Ham themselves have been inconsistent while they have missed Antonio up front. West Ham have the quality to beat Brighton while another loss could see Potter and co drop into the relegation zone.

Liverpool vs. West Brom

League leaders Liverpool sit 4 points clear at the top of the table as they take on Allardyce and his West Brom team who sit 19th. West Brom face no real chance of leaving Liverpool with a point or more and this should be another big win for Champions.

Wolverhampton vs. Tottenham

11th placed Wolves have only won 2 of their last 3 while Tottenham themselves have lost their last 2 games in a row as they look to return to winning ways and back into the top four after having dropped to 6th. The two teams are defensive and it will be interesting to see which team takes the initiative and actually tries to win the game.
