Midweek Football Preview

Last games of 2020!

Premier League MW 16

Crystal Palace vs. Leicester

14th placed Palace take on 3rd placed Leicester with Palace winless in their last 4 games. Leicester have been in good form recently and will go into this game looking to move into 2nd. An interesting game between two teams in contrasting form.

Everton vs. Man City

Everton sit 2nd and have returned to form as they take on 6th placed Man City. City can move into the top four with a win while Everton can go level on points with Liverpool with a win of their own. City aren’t themselves and Everton have won their last 4 games in a row. Another great game to watch on Monday.

Brighton vs. Arsenal

16th placed Brighton take on 15th placed Arsenal with 4 points separating the two sides. Arsenal had been on a very poor run of form but finally managed to win against Chelsea on Boxing day. Brighton themselves are winless in 5 games and have drawn their last 3 in a row. It will be interesting to see whether the win was a blip for Arsenal or can they build on from that result.

Burnley vs. Sheffield United

17th vs. 20th as Burnley take Sheffield United. Sheffield United are still searching for their first win this season but Burnley are a team in good form. Sheffield could finally managed to win this game but Burnley should get 3 points.

Southampton vs. West Ham

9th vs. 10th as Southampton take on West Ham. Two teams that have the same form in recent weeks but 3 points separate them. The result could go either way but this will be a good watch for the neutrals.

West Brom vs. Leeds

19th placed West Brom take on 12th placed Leeds in another game that has two teams with opposing styles. West Brom wille motivated by their point against Liverpool and Leeds will be a similar struggle in terms of style of play. West Brom should find joy on the counter and they could win the game as much as Leeds can.

Man United vs. Wolverhampton

4th placed United take on 11th placed Wolves with both teams in good form and having drawn their last games. United are unbeaten in recent games though while Wolves have only won 1 of their last 5. Wolves will have to put up a top notch performance against United to get a point or more.

Tottenham vs. Fulham

Tottenham sit 5th in the table winless in their last 3 in the table while Fulham sit 18th in the table having drawn their last 4 games in a row. It’s going to be interesting to see how this London Derby pans out, can Fulham get another draw or more against this Spurs side.

Newcastle vs. Liverpool

13th placed Newcastle take on league leaders Liverpool who drew against West Brom on Sunday. Newcastle haven’t won any of their last 3 games but they could manage a point or more to end the year on a high against a Liverpool team that doesn’t seem to have it about them at the moment.

La Liga MW 16

Sevilla take on Villarreal, Barcelona welcome Eibar, Atletico take on Getafe, Real Madrid travel to Elche, and Real Sociedad travel to Bilbao. After a short break for La Liga football is back in Spain to end the New Year as Atletico and Real make up the top 2 level on points while Sociedad and Villarreal complete the top four. Can Barcelona and Sevilla enter the top four with wins?
