Weekend Football Preview

The games keep rolling on!

Premier League MW 21

Everton vs. Newcastle

7th placed Everton will look to return to winning ways as they take on 16th placed Newcastle who are in desperate need of a win or a point themselves. Dark clouds hang over Steve Bruce at the moment and it remains to be seen how many more losses he would need to take before he is sacked. Everton are getting some important players back now and should win. Newcastle won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Crystal Palace vs. Wolverhampton

14th placed Palace take on 13th placed Wolves with both teams level on points and needing wins. Wolves have become solid at the back as of the last game but they will want to show more effort going forward against Palace. Palace fought well against West Ham but lost at the end. An interesting game that can go either way. Wolves won the reverse fixture 2-0.

Man City vs. Sheffield United

Sheffield United visit Manchester again and face the league leaders again for the 2nd game in a row but this time its Manchester City. City are in brilliant form and Sheffield United would need to top of their performance against Man United if they want to leave Manchester with some more points. City should win this game. The reverse fixture was a 0-1 win for Man City.

West Brom vs. Fulham

19th placed West Brom take on 18th placed Fulham in this relegation battle. 2 points separate the two teams and a win for Fulham would open up a good gap from the bottom two while a win for West Brom would make it more interesting. The two teams are in need of wins and this result can go either way. The reverse fixture was a 2-0 win for Fulham.

Arsenal vs. Man United

9th placed Arsenal are in good form in the league as they take on 2nd placed Manchester United who just lost to Sheffield United. Arsenal have new signing Odegaard ready to go for this game as they look to make it a league double over Man United. United will want to bounce back with a win and get revenge for what happened at Old Trafford. The reverse fixture was a 0-1 win for Arsenal.

Southampton vs. Aston Villa

11th placed Southampton take on 10th placed Villa with the two teams level on points. These two teams lost their last games and both will want to bounce back with wins after losing ground on the top in recent weeks. The reverse fixture was an entertaining 3-4 win for Southampton and there should be goals in this game.

Leicester vs. Leeds

3rd placed Leicester are in great form as they take on 12th placed Leeds who returned to winning ways in the last round. This should be a fun game to keep an eye on but Leicester should get three points. Leicester won the reverse fixture 1-4.

West Ham vs. Liverpool

West Ham are in really good form as they sit 5th and take on Liverpool who are 4th in the table. Liverpool returned to winning ways as they beat Tottenham in the last game. A very good game to watch on Sunday, Liverpool should be favourites but West Ham are more than up for the fight. Liverpool won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Brighton vs. Tottenham

If 6th placed Spurs wanted to quickly bounce back from a loss then 17th placed Brighton would be the place to do it at. Kane might be injured but Brighton haven’t been in the best form and should cause little problem to Spurs. The reverse fixture was a 2-1 win for Tottenham.

La Liga MW 21

Sevilla travel to Eibar, Real Madrid entertain Levante, Villarreal take on Real Sociedad, Atletico travel to Cadiz, and Barcelona take on Athletic Bilbao. A league in which Atletico are flying high and should remain high unless and until they mess up. All the rest of the teams can do is hope that fortune turns in their favour and they continue to win their own games.

Serie A MW 20

Milan travel to Bologna looking to return to winning ways, Juventus travel to Sampdoria, Inter entertain Benevento, Atalanta take on Lazio, Napoli entertain Parma, and Roma welcome Verona. Should be straight forward wins for the top teams in these fixtures but Atalanta vs Lazio should be a feisty encounter. The city of Milan still leads in Italy while the rest play catch up.

Bundesliga MW 19

Monchengladbach travel to Union Berlin, Bayern entertain Hoffenheim, Frankfurt take on Hertha Berlin, Dortmund welcome Augsburg, and Leipzig take on Leverkusen. Bayern are beginning to run away with the Bundesliga once again and with the fixtures this weekend they could open up an even larger gap at the top. The teams below Bayern needs some miracle to occur.

Ligue MW 22

Lyon take on Bordeaux, Marseille take on Rennes, PSG travel to Lorient, Lille entertain Dijon, and Monaco travel to Nantes. It’s tight at the top of Ligue 1 in what is turning out to be an interesting season at the moment. For now people are waiting to see who will blink first between Lille and PSG.
