Top four race wide open!

Premier League MW 24

Leicester 3 vs. 1 Liverpool

The game was very close and Liverpool were playing quite well when they finally got the lead in the 67th minute via Salah. Leicester though switched gears as Maddison equalised in the 78th minute, Vardy got the lead for Leicester in the 81st minute, and Barnes made it 3 in the 85th minute. A big win for Leicester against a top team takes them level on points with Manchester United who sit 2nd. Liverpool drop down to 6th with their 3rd successive loss. Pressure on Klopp at a tough time. 

Crystal Palace 0 vs. 3 Burnley

Gudmundsson got Burnley the lead in the 5th minute, Rodriguez made it 2 in the 10th minute. Lowton made it 3 in the 47th minute and that was that as Palace lost a second successive game. Palace drop into 14th in the table while Burnley move into 16th 8 points clear from the relegation zone. 

Man City 3 vs. 0 Tottenham

Rodri scored a penalty in the 23rd minute to give City the lead, and Gundogan added 2 in the 2nd half as City comfortably won against Tottenham. City go 7 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand as they can’t stop winning. Tottenham make it a 4th loss in 5 as they drop down to 9th on goal difference. Pressure on Mourinho to figure out some way in which they can get European football. 

Brighton 0 vs. 0 Aston Villa

No goals in this game with two attacking teams settling for the draw. Brighton remain 15th in the table while Villa move into 8th with the point. 

Southampton 1 vs. 2 Wolverhampton

Ings scored in the 25th minute for Southampton to give them the lead. Wolves though couldn’t take a 2nd straight loss to Southampton and Neves equalised via a penalty in the 53rd minute. Neto made it 2 in the 66th minute to give Wolves the win. Southampton drop into 13th with another loss, while Wolves move into 12th with the win. 

West Brom 1 vs. 1 Man United

Diagne scored in the 2nd minute to give West Brom the lead. United equalised via Fernandes in the 44th minute but that was all they could do. West Brom were the better team based on chances created and they could have won the game on multiple occasions. West Brom remain 19th now 12 points from safety while United remain 2nd but now 7 points behind City and level on points with Leicester. 

Arsenal 4 vs. 2 Leeds

Aubameyang scored 2 goals in the 1st along with a goal from Bellerin to give Arsenal a solid 3 goal lead at half time. Leeds were all over the place and couldn’t get to grips with Arsenal. Aubameyang completed his hattrick in the 47th minute to make it 4-0. Struijk got one back for Leeds in the 58th minute while Costa made it 2 in the 69th minute. Arsenal held on for the win though. Arsenal move into 10th with the win while Leeds drop into 11th with the loss. 

Everton 0 vs. 2 Fulham

Fulham had a brilliant game against Everton and should have got 3-4 goals in the 1st half itself. Maja though got two in the 2nd half to finally get a win for Fulham, and one that they deserved. Everton remain 7th with the loss and looked off the pace while Fulham remain 18th but 7 points behind Newcastle with a game in hand. 

West Ham 3 vs. 0 Sheffield United

Rice scored in the 41st minute to give West Ham the lead via a penalty. Diop made it 2 in the 58th minute while Fredericks made it 3 in the 96th minute. The win for West Ham takes them into 5th level on points with Chelsea in 4th. Sheffield United remain bottom of the table and now 14 points from safety. 

La Liga MW 23

Atletico beat Granada 1-2, Sevilla beat Huesca 1-0, Barcelona beat Alaves 5-1, Real Sociedad beat Getafe 0-1, Real Madrid beat Valencia 2-0, and Real Betis beat Villarreal 1-2. Atletico remain 5 points clear at the top of the table with 2 games in hand. Real Madrid sit 2nd while Barcelona sit 3rd with a game in hand. Sevilla also have a game in hand as they sit 4th while Real Sociedad, and Villarreal make up 5th and 6th. Advantage Atletico remain but the gap isn’t that great at the moment. 

Serie MW 22

Napoli beat Juventus 1-0, Spezia beat Milan 2-0, Roma beat Udinese 3-0, Atalanta beat Cagliari 0-1, and Inter beat Lazio 3-1. Inter go top of Serie A with the win as Milan lose and drop into 2nd a point behind their local rivals. Roma move into 3rd while Juventus drop into 4th in the table. Napoli, Atalanta, and Lazio make up the rest of the top 7, all sitting at 40. The race for the title is fiery at the moment and Milan’s recent poor results has them now playing catch up. 

Bundesliga MW 21

Dortmund drew with Hoffenheim 2-2, Leverkusen drew with Mainz 2-2, Frankfurt beat Koln 2-0, Monchengladbach drew with Wolfsburg 0-0, and Bayern drew with Arminia 3-3. Frankfurt and Leipzig the big winners this weekend as Leipzig go within 5 points of Bayern and Frankfurt move into 3rd level on points with Leipzig. Wolfsburg complete the top four. Leverkusen, Dortmund, and Monchengladbach make up the top 7. Dortmund have appointed Marco Rose as their new manager but the current Monchengladbach coach will join them in the summer. For now they have to get back into the top four. 

Ligue MW 25

PSG beat Nice 2-1, Montpellier beat Lyon 1-2, Monaco drew with Lorient 2-2, and Lille drew with Brest 0-0. Lille remain top of the league by a point as PSG move into 2nd. Lyon and Monaco sit 3rd and 4th in the league. PSG take advantage on a weekend where the rest of the teams drop points.
