Chelsea vs. Burnley MW 11 Preview

Final game before yet another international break..

Chelsea take on Burnley at Stamford Bridge for MW 11 of the Premier League season. Burnley sit 18th in the table with 1 win, 4 draws, and 5 losses this season. The win came last week against Brentford which was big relief to Sean Dyche and team. Burnley have also lost only 1 game in their last 5 so there is definite improvement from the start of the season. Slowly and steadily Burnley are getting ready to fight for survival once again.

Chelsea go into this game having beaten Malmo in Sweden. We go into this game top of the table and another win would seal an impressive and progressive period for the team. Tuchel stated in his pre match press conference that Burnley are a tough team that like to press and we all know that Burnley are a physical team as well. Other than that Tuchel was asked about the international break and how there should be fewer breaks and that. Tuchel was also asked about Conte and he welcomed the manager to the Premier League once again and that he was ready to play the quality team that Spurs would become under Conte.

Chelsea Team Preview

Lukaku, Werner, and Kovacic remain out. Alonso is out with an ankle problem and Mount is back in the squad but has a wisdom tooth infection and might not start. Mendy should start in goal with a back three of Christensen, Silva, and Rudiger. Reece James and Chilwell should start as the wing backs with a midfield of Kante and Loftus-Cheek. Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, and Havertz should start up front. I would start RLC for his physicality in midfield and Pulisic tends to love playing Burnley. Plenty of talent on the bench and Chalobah could start in defence for Silva.

Burnley Team Preview

Burnley have their traditional 2 banks of four and two up top. Pope in goal is quite good while Lowton is a constant threat as a full back. Tarkowksi and Mee are good central defenders as well. Gudmundsson and McNeil cause problems as wingers while Westwood, and Brownhill provide solidity in the midfield. New signing Cornet has been causing problems for opponents this season while Wood is also target up top. A physical, pacy team that can always cause problems.
