Weekend Football Preview

Exciting games ahead!

Premier League MW 13

Arsenal vs. Newcastle

5th placed Arsenal lost last weekend to Liverpool and are looking to bounce back against bottom of the table Newcastle who are still without a win this season. Eddie Howe will be in the Newcastle dugout for the first time after missing the last game due to Covid. Both teams need the win and this should be an interesting game to kick off the weekend.

Liverpool vs. Southampton

Liverpool sit 3rd in the table as they take on 13th placed Southampton who lost last weekend. Klopp against Hassenhutl once again and the last time Southampton visited Anfield they got a result. This will be a tougher task for the team with the fans back and Liverpool will be favourites ofcourse. Exciting football for sure and who knows maybe Southampton can get something out of this game.

Norwich vs. Wolverhampton

Norwich sit 19th in the table and are looking or their 3rd win in a row as they take on Wolves who sit 6th in the table. Dean Smith got a big win in his first game in charge but Wolves and Lage are playing well and this will be a tougher task. A good game to watch for sure.

Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa

10th placed Palace are on an unbeaten run as they take on 15th placed Villa who got their first win under Gerrard last weekend. A very exciting game with Vieira going toe to toe with Stevie G and two coaches who like to play high tempo football. This can be a high scoring and exciting game and the result could go either way.

Brighton vs. Leeds

9th placed Brighton have fallen off in recent weeks and they haven’t won in 5 games as they take on 17th placed Leeds who also have one win in their last five games. Brighton need to return to winning ways and Leeds are the type of team that can help them do that. Leeds have several injuries and their open style of play could allow Brighton’s players to take advantage. The result can go either way but Brighton need the win but so do Leeds.

Brentford vs. Everton

14th placed Brentford have not won any of their last five games as they take on Everton who sit 11th and have also done the same. Two teams that are struggling at the moment but Benitez will be under pressure for sure. Brentford started well but have faced a reality check in recent weeks. An interesting game with both teams needing a win.

Man City vs. West Ham

City sit 2nd in the table as they take on 4th placed West Ham who lost last weekend. 3 points separate the two teams and West Ham will want to cut back the deficit once again. West Ham were doing brilliantly until last weekend and will want to show that the result was just a speed bump rather than a reality check. City will want to win to keep pace with Chelsea and Liverpool. A big game for sure.

Leicester vs. Watford

Leicester are winless in their last three and sit 12th in the table as they take on 16th placed Watford who won last weekend. Ranieri once again returns to the club that he won the Premier League with and their will be plenty of love on show from the Leicester fans. Leicester should win this game though because Rodgers might be feeling some pressure at the moment.

Burnley vs. Tottenham

18th placed Burnley are unbeaten in their last four but have only won one of those games as they take on Tottenham who sit 7th in the table. Conte is now realising the task he has at Spurs after the team lost to Slovenian side Mura on Thursday. There is plenty of work to do and Burnley is a tough place to go to for sure. Spurs could face another tough afternoon especially with Kane not firing yet.

La Liga MW 15

Valencia take on Rayo Vallecano, Villarreal welcome Barcelona, Real Sociedad travel to Espanyol, Atletico travel to Cadiz, and Real Madrid take on Sevilla. Some big and interesting games this weekend mainly Real and Sevilla which is a top four clash. Barcelona also face a tough trip to Villarreal while Real Sociedad will want to take advantage by winning their game. An interesting weekend ahead.

Serie MW 14

Juventus take on Atalanta, Inter travel to Venezia, Milan welcome Sassuolo, Roma take on Torino, and Napoli play Lazio. Juventus were thrashed by Chelsea during the week and face another tough game against Atalanta. Inter travel to Venezia who have been decent this season while Milan play Sassuolo who also like to play attacking football. Roma face Torino which is not an easy game while Sarri goes back to Napoli with his Lazio team. It’s a high tempo weekend in Italian football and Napoli along with Milan will want to bounce back with wins after losing last weekend.

Bundesliga MW 13

Monchengladbach travel to Koln, Hoffenheim travel to Furth, Wolfsburg welcome Dortmund, Bayern welcome Arminia, and Leipzig take on Leverkusen. Bayern lost last weekend and will want to bounce back with a win while Dortmund face a tough trip to Wolfsburg. Bayern are still in control but for now the race in Germany is close for sure.

Ligue MW 15

Lille take on Nantes, PSG travel to St.Etienne, Monaco take on Strasbourg, Lyon travel to Montpellier, and Marseille take on Troyes. A foregone conclusion really but it will be interesting to see whether the likes of Lille and Monaco can start moving up the table.
